PetSafe Original 2 Way Pet Door - Manual Lock, Durable Frame, Multiple Colours - Large, White

This pet door is great. It hasn't changed in years making it very easy to fit as a replacement of the old broken one. the plastic flap does break eventually with a large dog. Mine doesn't charge through as quickly as he did so I'm hoping it'll last a.bit longer but I think they're great and with this horrid weather and strong winds, the magnet works well keeping the plastic door closed so no gales through the door anymore. This is about the Third I've bought and I would highly recommend it. I have 4 pets using this door, 2 cats, a terrier and a ridgeback cross that weighs about 40kg, not a massive dog, definitely large though and quite strong and the large pet door is fine for them all.

I’m really happy with this product. I actually bought this as we already had a dog flap of the same make installed in our front door, which I had put in by a professional who cut the panel and fitted it etc (I’m not one for attempting that) so this was a replacement purely because the old one was brown and I preferred white! Product came on the delivery date, intact and packaged just fine inside. Installation was so easy (hardly rocket science to take one flap off and fit another) but all the equipment was present as stated, and all holes accurate (sounds daft, but I’ve had those sorts of issues with other things before!). I did however, use the old screws from the flap I took off, as the new ones are quite long.. but if you’ve got the equipment to hack them down to size then happy days. I like it, our Labrador hasn’t noticed, but it looks tidy. I’d happily buy one again in the future should I need to. Only small criticism from me is that it would be nice to have had a panel or something on the inside to stop the screws from showing and the inside of the door itself. I feel for the guys and girls who have had a bad experience with this, but I’ve got no complaints. Good work!

Good dog flap, with only one area for improvement, and that's in the strength of the outside flap. The flap works by having the middle translucent panel allowed to swing both ways, whilst the outer flap can only swing from inside to outside. This means it seals nicely when shut. However, this outside part (the white square part) is quite thin. We have some enthusiastic large (35kgs+) dogs, and I'm now on my third flap in 18 months as the outer part of the flap keeps snapping if the dogs hurry through too fast too many times. It's a shame, because the flap itself is good. Fitting wise, a half-competent DIY'er should be able to fit this in an hour or so - I've done this several times now so it's quite straightforward. You'll need to trim down the long screws provided so factor that in when you're preparing to install it - I used a dremmel with a cut-off wheel. Plan your cut as you can't add material back! The best advice I can give you is to buy a replacement panel for the bottom of the door - I think I got one online for around £25. Our bottom door panel was patterned (IE, not perfectly flat) and this meant installing the flap would be difficult to seal to the surface due to the raised pattern. Buying a flat plain panel solves this issue, and it means I can just re-install the original panel should I need to return to standard. Also, if your flap does break, you can just swap the panel back to the standard one until you get a replacement. Overall, I'm very happy. It would just be nice if they lasted a little longer - but part of that is down to my dogs charging in through the flap, so I can't completely blame PetSafe! Pleased with this. It is a replacement for one that we have had for years. Works well for our German Shepherds. Very easy to install with the correct tools.

Strong good quality item easy to install

Replaced with the same as had this originally approx 10 years ago, but the dogs have destroyed it now and the door broke and fell off. Happy to have been able to replace like for like

While I wanted to give this product a positive review, I simply can't. The item does serve its purpose, but my dog must be part bulldozer because he's managed to break two of these doors already. They last about a year, but once any small cracks appear in the pet door, it's only a matter of time before it fails completely. If there were an option to buy just a replacement door, I'd be much more likely to recommend this product. However, having to purchase an entirely new unit each time makes it hard to justify. Unfortunately, it's just not sturdy enough for its intended use-especially when marketed for larger breed dogs.

ok for the price not the most secure but was not after that only problem I had was that I thought i would need extra tunnel extensions for a thinker door and ordered two but when they arrived they were for a small cat door not for a large dog door you would have thought they would have notice but did not so make sure you order the correct size as it does not make it too clear on amazon page

la taille L est idéal pour la taille des bichon etc... ainsi il ne doivent pas s abesser et éviter de courber leur dos . UTILUSATION: facile à installer, et le chien s'en méfie à devoir pousser avec sa tête, du coup faut travailler avec des friandise j'ai 5 bichon 3 sur 5 on compris le principe au bout de 2h . FONCTIONNEMENT : au début sait mieux d enlever les aimant caoutchouc ainsi il ne ressente pas cette légère résistance QUI LES FREINE À L UTILISER. CONSEIL : bonne article a conseiller , MAIS PETIT INCONVÉNIENT : à chaque fermeture sa claque. du coup j'ai un de.mes chien qui ose pas l utiliser à cause du bruit. Je.vais commander un autre model en plastic souple un peut plus chère . le model ci dessus est à conseiller sauf si vous avez un chien plus sensible au bruit à cause du claquement.

This is my second one, I had to get a larger one when we got a bigger dog. Only down side is that when it’s very windy it blows open.

Installation was very easy. The only issue I have is that the template should be modified so that you have a little more 'meat' for the screw holes that you need to drill. Installation is super easy, and everything aligns perfectly. Magnets seem very strong, and will now keep the chickens out of our dog room! Our retriever can figure almost anything out, and this was no exception. What I mean by that is she tries to figure out how to destroy anything she can...and this seems like she cannot! I would highly recommend this door. Instructions are clear, build quality is great, and functionality is exactly as it should be. Very simple and effective design!
