Simple, affordable and a well-designed item.
Some time ago I had the misfortune to damage my left knee. This happened as I was kneeling down and at the time I thought I had knelt on a stone. The pain was quite brief and yet excruciating.Thinking nothing of it I left it to mother nature to fix the problem.Of course that was the wrong thing to do, but hey I'm a man and that's what we tend to do.The pain did get slightly worse and I found it increasingly difficult to walk up an down stairs.I was taking paracetamol to numb the pain as well as using pain-relieving sprays and creams. Also, I was using cohesive bandages to help keep my knee supported.Of course this didn't do much to help me during my working day, which involves heavy lifting and a considerable amount of driving.Anyway, to cut a long story short, I sought some medical advice and it turned out I had damaged my lateral collateral ligament.I was advised to keep my knee strapped and keep taking the painkillers. When I got home I decided to look online for a supportive knee brace and this is where i found this one. This knee brace was not the cheapest nor the most expensive. What caught my eye, however, was its design and supposedly simplicity of use.On that I decided to order the knee brace before going to work in Scotland for a couple of days. Those couple of days were absolute agony! As a matter of interest, I bought some freezing gel from a pound shop and that seemed to help.Upon my return home my Amazon parcel was awaiting me.It didn't take me long to open the packaging to inspect my new knee brace. There wasn't much to the knee support and I must say that I was slightly disappointed.I immediately removed my cohesive bandage, applied some freezing gel and adorned my new knee brace.Because of the Velcro fastening the brace felt a bit weird, but not unpleasantly so.The protective doughnut opening above the kneecap was unusual to say the least. After a few minutes of tweaking I managed to get the brace in place. The difference I felt was unbelievable! For the next few days I kept the brace on at night because in the past I had been awakened by shooting pains. No doubt this was the wrong thing to do, but it worked for me.I have been using the knee brace for just over four weeks now and it has been fantastic. For the first couple of weeks I found coming downstairs too painful. However, I did manage to come down backwards with no ill effects. Now I have no problem with going up or down stairs normally.Whenever I have a hard day I will wear my knee brace to protect my knee.Other than that I can go about without wearing my knee brace. If anyone is considering purchasing a knee brace then I would highly recommend this one.It has worked wonders for me and it'll probably do the same for you. This will be the only brace you'll ever kneed! Sorry!!

Very good for support when walking, not so much for gym work
I bought this in preparation for a week's hiking in the Pyrenees, as one of my knees was playing up prior to the trip. I tested it out at home and at the gym first, to see how it was, and found both pros and cons. It does feel quite bulky and I was worried it might leave my knee area too hot and sweaty. This wasn't the case; obviously the area does heat up but the material is breathable and relatively light for something that serves such a purpose. There are three straps - top, middle and bottom - that serve to keep the brace in place. Unfortunately, at the gym, I found that the top strap would ride down during some exercises, pushing the brace out of position, and I found myself constantly readjusting it. It still offered support, but this was annoying. However, when it came to my hiking trip, the brace really served its purpose, it gave my knee the support I needed going up and especially down mountains. It really was invaluable towards the end, and even in the 30+ degree heat it wasn't uncomfortable.Summary:- gives excellent support for hiking, but slips about during some gym exercises eg leg presses- comfortable and sturdy- fairly easy to put on, though the straps can get caught up on each other whilst doing so due to the nature of velcro

Good product.
Good product, does exactly what it says on the tin so to speak. Gave me the confidence to mobilise after a knee injury - was afraid my knee would give way even though the type of injury wouldn't really lead to that, with the support this product gives was able to overcome this psychological niggle and proceed with rehab.Have to point out though that strictly speaking this is not a 'brace'. It does not have any metal or similarly solid components to brace your knee into a certain position and if you do genuinely have an unstable joint, this may not be the ideal solution. This item is actually a support. It is great for soft tissue injuries or ligament sprains which leave you with a joint which needs protection rather than physical bracing. Thus it met my needs. The product is conforming, comfortable and has adjustable velcro straps so you can fit it to your individual requirement. You can also adjust it as your injury recovers ie. if you have a swelling which then recedes.Good purchase.

Poor design.
The design is quite wrong. One would not at first think that having all three velcro arms on the same side would make much difference, but it does. Normally two arms are on one side with one on the other side. This design means the arms keep getting caught up with each other, and, surprisingly, it is quite a bit more difficult to put on.The quality is generally very good, although there was a long thread hanging off mine, suggesting it was not finished off properly. There is one clever idea - a wave of rubber around the inside to keep it in place and stop it slipping.Of course, being neoprene fabric, it gets much more hot and sweaty than one made with cotton, although they have tried to counter that with breathing holes and different material on the inside. (Unfortunately all knee braces seem to be Neoprene nowadays.)Personally, I did not find it very comfortable, maybe because it was new.Or maybe that is why they are selling them so cheaply at £9.95!

Parfait

Soddisfatto.
