LEGO 21108 "Ghostbusters Ecto-1" Building Set

Not quite as fun to build as 75828 but it's 1984 Ecto1. As a lifelong Ghostbusters fan that's pretty much all that matters. It's a lovely model and the detail on the figures is amazing. What I was particularly impressed by was how recognisable the heads are - you can tell which one is Venkman or Stantz just by the way the cheeks are drawn on. Also, no stickers which is a great bonus. It's a lovely set, just need to build myself a nice cabinet somewhere to put it in (I know that's not quite the Lego spirit but seriously, Ecto-1!)

Really great design - the car feels very solid when put together and nicely reflects the design from the film. All four ghostbusters are present and recognisable - Venkman even has a slightly whimsical smile that really brings out the personality of the character. I really enjoyed putting it together and, on the strength of this product, ordered the Dr Who Lego Ideas model straight afterwards which I'm looking forward to building! My four year old son loved it too and was desperate to pay - is it wrong that I don't want to share? !!!

This was an absolute joy to put together and the finished product was a piece of modern art. I'm a fan of lego, but just as big a fan of the original Ghostbusters movie. Combining the 2 is such a logical idea and has worked so well. I would also like the HQ but this is a bit out of my price range. I advise people sitting on the fence with this at its current price not to hang about like I did with the Back to the Future Lego set. Once this is gone and the new movie (hmmmmmm) comes out it wil be well into 3 figures and not justifiable to most people. I felt like I got good value simply because it looks great and I'm 100% happy with it. If I had paid 3 times that amount probably not. 5 stars.

Absolute rip off. Product not new. Used and half built inside the box. Cost £160. Return requested.

So my son is the biggest Lego fan, has loads of different kits, Bugatti, Lamborghini, Simpson House!! It's all been pricey but worth the money, this however is not worth the money, we paid £124 for a tiny car, yes it's Ghostbusters but sorry I wouldn't waste your money on it, buy something else with the Lego logo

This is a quality LEGO set and definitely a must buy for Ghostbusters fans. First of all, the packaging is top notch. The box is good quality with vivid graphics and the instruction booklet contains trivia about the movie. The set took me about 2 hours to build and was enjoyable with minimal repetition. Once built, the Ecto-1 is very striking and movie accurate. Also, the mini figures deserve special praise as they capture the characters personalities perfectly. The only negative I can think of is that the set is a bit pricey, although its worth it for Ghostbuster fans.

Takes me back a couple of years. Enjoyed the build. A true collectors set.

Ha llegado mucho antes de lo esperado, tres días antes nada menos. Es un producto genial y divertido de montar. Perfecto para tenerlo de muestra, con muchos detalles. Lo único que, o me he dejado piezas por colocar o ya viene con piezas de mas de repuesto, porque me sobraron unas cuantas. De igual manera, un producto fantástico, buena compra si eres amante de Lego y los cazafantasmas.

Purchased within a few days of this being available at Amazon. My 5 year old son and I are big Ghostbuster fans AND he's into LEGOs right now, so this was a perfect fit. The day it arrived we spent that evening together building ECTO-1. We stared late, and I knew it would take us a few hours. We stayed up a little past his bed time. He was yawning towards the end, but excitement for the build completion kept us both going. Smiles and cheering all around when we finally completed it. It comes with a few spare parts. I double checked that we missed something, but we didn't. Oddly, it was missing a couple, maybe one, of the yellow pieces for the roof rack. We used the extra green and black pieces of the same type to complete the build. Despite the missing piece(s), we consider it completed. For the missing pieces, I'd take a 1/2 a star off and rate at 4.5, but it seems I can't rate in 1/2 stars. We loved the build and it still brings a smile to both of us, so 5 stars. This level of build I thought might be too complex for a 5 year old. With very little assistance from me, we got through it just fine. I like that the build instructions comes with a list of all the parts used and the part numbers. Since this is being used as a toy and not a model on the shelf, a few parts have already gone missing, which are the parts we didn't have extras for, of course. So, should the day come I want to restore it in all its glory, I'll have the parts list and can (hopefully) buy just the missing parts. These themed kits are a great way to bring parents and kids together where they get to enjoy the build with dad/mom/older-sibling/whoever and have a post-build play toy and dad/mom/... gets to fill a bit of their fan-dom craving (Ghostbusters for me in this case) and get some quality-time with their little one.
