Warning inside: Beautiful design, saves space, fast charging but a tall AC adapter
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Upate:Since my review was voted one of the most popular, it sits near the top I believe. So I feel it is my responsibility to take this time to go back and update this review to reflect the issues with this device and the 2018 Apple products. It appears that this model is NOT SUPPORTED for use with the new 2018 models of iPhone (XS , XS Max and XR).I have lowered the rating of this to 3 stars. It seems to be good for older devices, and it's been a really good purchase for me.I have just updated to the Apple Watch Series 4, and on the first night of charging with this Belkin product I am seeing intermittent charging also.I'm not sure if there's something Apple have done, since they have improved charging and battery hardware in new devices. I am investigating further as we have 2 of these stands and I will test the other one. The watch charges fine from the Apple supplied chargers. The Belkin website is updated so say that XS/XSM/XR are not supported, but no mention of the Apple Watch S4, only the S3 and S2 are mentioned as supported.----- Original review -------After a month of trying to juggle the cables and make room on my night stand for the iPhone and apple watch chargers, and failing miserably, I began my quest to seek out a solution, any solution, to this problem. At the end of this review I will summarise with a list of pro’s and con’s if you wanted to skip ahead at any point. Since there are multiple products on this page, for the benefit of those on devices that don't show the info: This review is for the Belkin Powerhouse Dual Apple Watch + iPhone charging stand.Belkin have made a bit of a name for themselves over the years. Sometimes their products have been more miss than hit. That being said, their new PowerHouse charging stand seems to be firmly in the hit column.Briefly looking at the other, very similar, product from Belkin that does exactly the same: the Valet charging stand; the key difference here is a roughly 10% drop in price, the materials are slightly different and most importantly the PowerHouse is narrower and uses a new AC adapter. Why most importantly, I hear you ask. Nightstands, like mine, tend to be cluttered with who knows what and space is at a premium. The new narrower form factor of the PowerHouse here makes this a brilliant companion to your nightstand, instead of taking up a quarter of the space. And the AC adapter that was used in the Valet charger was known to suffer an immense coil whine when under load, with many people reporting they could not use the Valet charger in the same room that they slept in overnight because it was loud enough to stop them getting to sleep. So here we have a more refined product from Belkin to meed the needs of the modern day iPhone and Apple Watch owners. The product has a nice weight to it. Since the internal components are likely to be quite light, I’m going to go ahead and say that this is purely down to design. It helps keep everything stable and steady, and the soft materials used in grey mean the base doesn’t slip about too much either. The stand is capable of catering for iPhones of all sizes, I’ve tried it with the iPhone 6, and 7 plus; the only thing of note is that the charging port on the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus seem to be tighter (water resistance?) and therefore I’d recommend you still keep a hold of the stand with one hand when removing the phone from charge. The AC adapter provided comes with a UK 3 pin plug, which is interchangeable with the otherwise undeclared pins which I assume at this point to be EU or US format (they almost look like UK shaver socket though, but I don’t have one to try it). There is an adequate 1.2m of cable attached directly to the plug, but since the connection and power supply is proprietary (round connector and 3.4A) you won’t be able to replace this in a hurry.Speaking of power supply, the iPhone will get a more than adequate 2.4A (12W) supply; meaning it will charge roughly twice as fast as with the standard 1A 5W charger supplied with the phone. The Apple watch also gets a more than adequate 1A 5W supply of power, not reducing the power supplied to the iPhone; allowing both to charge at full speed. At this point, many will be considering the cost of the unit. It’s a fair thing to consider, given that the price point here is roughly 2 to 3 times that of other stands that you might see on Amazon. But there is really good reason for this price. Right now on Apple, the 1m charging cable for the watch is over £25. Most of the charging stands on Amazon actually require you to use your provided watch charging cable, meaning with the Belkin stands you get to keep your provided cable as a spare or keep it at work. Then there’s the fact that this stand only requires one power socket (because being integrated), and I’m not sure what your bedside power situation is like, but sockets for me are at an absolute premium. Finally, the materials used are nice, you’re not going to accidentally damage your phone on this, and the adjustable and flexible charging for iPhone means that almost any case can be used with this standTaking all this in to account; the Belkin name is only adding a small premium, I’m willing to bet the MFI certification on this (in light of the Apple/Amazon fake charger ‘scandal’) is well worth the premium to those looking to protect their devices.A small gripe with the stand is the lack of almost any fiction with the Watch. As a perfectionist, I don’t like my watch being ‘wonky’ on the stand yet it’s really difficult to get it to stay the right way up. I’m not sure there’s much you can do about this. But the problem disappears as, shown in the video, I use the nightstand mode on the Watch and have the strap neatly tucked behind the iPhone. It’s almost as if someone at Belkin secretly designed the stand to be able to do this, but made no mention of it anywhere!Another gripe is with the AC adapter. Yes it’s now quiet, and doesn’t sound like an angry wasp, but it’s also about 6 million miles tall. Ok, so slight exaggeration there, but in the UK, most multi sockets are designed so that the AC adapters can have their bulk below and the cable from the bottom; this means that the PowerHouse won’t fit into any of my multi sockets unless I lose the ability to use a socket on them. It’s a bit annoying and it’s not the only manufacturer that does this.Aside from a very smooth lack of friction and the power adapter being the wrong way up for me; this charging stand signifies, to me, the height of perfection. I couldn’t want it to do any more. However, because of the fact that the AC adapter is such an absolute pain, I can’t award 5 stars in this review.Pro’s:- Very nice weight to the product for stability- Can be used with nightstand mode if you don’t have a link bracelet- Allows use of phone cases of most sizes, even with batteries on (thinking Apple’s case as it has lightning)- 2.4A iPhone and 1A Apple Watch simultaneously- Soft surfaces give grip and feel nice- Narrow design saves you space- One cable in, less cables- MFI (Made for iPhone) certified and MFAW certifiedCon’s:- AC adapter very tall, can get in the way of UK multi sockets (minus 1 star)- Perfectionists who don’t use nightstand mode may spend time trying to keep the apple watch ‘straight’

Broke down in month 18....
Overall this has been good. Charges really quickly and that is what we want no? However the watch attaching mechanism is a little tricky and annoying as the straps get in the way. But after 18 months of use this has broken down and so I must say the 'buyer beware'. A lot of money to pay for something that had it happened in month 25 of ownership wouldn't be under warranty.Thankfully it was under warranty and they are sending a replacement.

Looks good but doesn’t deliver
DO NOT BUY. This is a terrible product. I’ve owned it for less than a year and I’ve had a constant reoccurring issue of late. The phone bounces between charging and not charging. When this happens the phone buzzes over and over again in quick succession and the screen lights up, it has actually woken me up at night! Several times, recently, I’ve had to change to a standard charger at 1 in the morning. After some time on the Belkin forums it seems this a common fault with no apparent resolution. To top things off my new iPhone XS isn’t even supported, so I now have an expensive paperweight. Save your money and look elsewhere.

Good quality
Expensive but well made and solid. Can’t seem to use the night clock feature of watch as can’t get it on sideways but that might just be us being daft,
