Recipe has changed!! And its HORRIBLE.
I've been eating these everyday for over two years, and I eat 3-4 per day. I saw the new boxes with the updated design and I feared the worst. Sure enough they are completely different. I immediately noticed they were much lighter, the old bars had some weight to them. Then the taste, just awful. It's like they removed the oats and put in rice filler or something, and it tastes stale. I've already gone through 2 of the new boxes and I'm done. I just cannot eat these, they completely changed the recipe!! I googled it and sure enough a Kashi rep responded to every thread in the Kashi forum that the recipe had changed to comply with the non gmo verification. It's not just the bars either, the cereals, cookies, etc. People are complaining about it all over the Kashi forums. Well they just lost a customer who buys ALOT of Kashi dark mocha almond bars. Between my husband and I we went through a box per day. I was spending $21 per week buying these bars for over 2 years! I now have to find a replacement and I am very sad about that.I posted on the Kashi forums and they closed my thread by archiving it. Bury the truth so other customers can't see it?Also even though the picture here on Amazon is for the old box, I received the new ones so I want to point that out. The new boxes have a different design as well as the non gmo verified label on the front. They also have less fiber and less protein! Buyer beware! I have attached images of the difference in the boxes for reference.

You won't get what's depicted!
As someone with severe hypoglycemia, I long depended on these bars as an emergency food to buffer my blood sugar level. I had them stashed in our cars, my purses, etc. They had the perfect balance of protein and fiber with low carbs, a pleasant taste and not too sweet...UNTIL the manufacturer decided to 'improve' them by changing the recipe to increase sugar and decrease protein (in other words make them cheaper to manufacture), under the guise of offering a 'Non GMO' product. The new version is sickeningly sweet and makes my blood sugar spike and crash dangerously. When I saw this supplier advertising the original style Dark Mocha Almond Kashi bars, I reasonably assumed they still had a small supply of the original bars and ordered right away. When the 'improved' version arrived I was furious and returned them. Suppliers, Amazon - please make sure that the product you represent is what you actually have in stock and ship. The new bars are NOT the same and could have harmed me.

There is always a feeling of anxiety as I enter the granola bar aisle at the grocery store. Will the Kashi Dark Mocha Almond granola bars be sold out? Will my morning commutes be granola free? Is this just the beginning of my First World problems?First of all, these are delicious. Other "health food" granola options taste like cardboard or are too dry/hard to eat. On the flip side, other cloyingly sweet kids granola bars are just as unhealthy as a candy bar. The Kashi Dark Mocha Almond strike the perfect balance between the two. They are substantial enough as a breakfast, without resorting to empty calories. The best thing about this: it's a 6-pack of 6 bars each! Plus, they keep long enough so the 36 bars don't go to waste. With Amazon shipping (and a Prime account), I have these within two days to satisfy the craving. Plus, even when every other granola bar is in stock, the packages of Kashi Dark Mocha Almond are always sold out at the store -- Amazon saves the day again.Pros:-Scrumtrulescent-Filling-Healthy dose of complex fiber without excessive sugars-36-pack!!Cons:-I feel shameful if I eat three per day-They're too easy, other breakfast foods are neglected-The chocolate chips are tenuous -- Don't sit on a dropped chip for a 30 minute car ride

My favorite granola/energy bar--the only one I enjoy eating
I really like this Kashi bar. It isn't crunchy and is less sugary than most. I like the mix of almonds (many whole) and tiny mocha-dark chocolate bits. Each bar has 140 calories. This bar is not sold in some of the major supermarkets in Seattle, so I was delighted to find it at Amazon. Granola Bar Goodness and not too sweet.
A subscribe and save staple for me. It has just the right flavor mix, chocolate/mocha and the crunch of almonds. If I could knock a half a star off, it would be because sometimes one of the mini chocolate chunks falls off as I eat a granola bar. Sometimes the 'mini-kiss', if you will, stays in the wrapper and sometimes it ends up falling out. (This is no different than what happens with any other granola bar with some crunch, but be aware or you may end up with a choco-stain on your pants if you do not notice...DAMHIKT ). Only s half a star knock though because overall, I love these and eat them regularly. Most granola bars are too sweet for me with too much sugar and these strike a much better balance. There is also enough room in the wrapper that you can get them out without hassle and they do not stick to the wrapper. (Kudos to Kashi for getting that right too). I cannot find them locally and love the S&S at Amazon.
