NEPTONION Cricket Keeper - Efficient but Limited Quality
The NEPTONION Professional Cricket Keeper offers a live worm organizer tank with a rubber seal, designed to serve as a habitat for various insects such as silkworms, crickets, Dubia cockroaches, and superworms. On the positive side, the bug dirt management function is a commendable feature, helping maintain cleanliness within the tank. The rubber seal adds to its efficiency in containing the insects, preventing escape. The yellow colour provides a vibrant touch, enhancing the aesthetic appeal. However, the build quality of the keeper is somewhat limited. Some users have reported issues with durability, particularly the tank's plastic components, which may not withstand prolonged use or potential wear and tear. The functionality may be compromised over time.In terms of value for money, the NEPTONION Cricket Keeper is reasonably priced for its intended use. The bug dirt management function adds value for users seeking a convenient solution. While it may not be the most durable option, it serves its purpose as a live worm organizer. Prospective buyers should consider their long-term needs and the potential for wear on the plastic components. Overall, an efficient but modest-quality cricket keeper.

Crickets escape when trying to provide them with food
Topping up food and water was a nightmare as the crickets could escape through the trap. It's a great idea, but doesn't do the job completely.I think it may work better with non-jumping critters.

Nicely made. The sections go together well. A clever design. Handle gives good control.
The whole thing seems well made to me. The plastic mouldings are accurate and very tidy. All the parts mate neatly including the automatically closing door which closes when the feed/water tray is removed.I like the design. The handle is well placed and shaped and gives good control of the vessel. This means that the insects can be shaken down to allow the top to be removed. The top is easy to take off and replace whilst not being over lose. There is a mark to assist wit speedy replacement. The top is not over prone to getting ‘cross threaded’ which helps as you don’t want to hang about. The bottom is similarly easy to get off and on. The ends are not on a single thread with a single start point but located by a number of short sections of thread. This makes the procedure easy and less fussy. Good. The seal (I’d call it a stopper actually) is nicely made and goes in easily but positively. The orifice is large enough to facilitate ‘pouring’ a bug. The handle is placed well to allow this.Three pieces of foam shaped to fit the curved end section of the water/feed tray are supplied. That’s two spare ones before you’ve got to start improvising! It’s an attractive object to look at for what it is. I like the colour scheme.I haven’t tried breaking it but my impression of the plastic of the body is that it doesn’t seem overly brittle yet is adequately rigid. Nice.I hope these opinions and observations are helpful.

Useless
I can't say I'm impressed with this especially given the price. The first complaint would have to be with the lid which is extremely difficult to click back on correctly as there is no mark to indicate where it locks. My second complaint would be that it states this is appropriate for crickets which I disagree upon. Whenever I would try and take the food bowl out to change the H20 balls etc, about 10-15 crickets would also hop out with it! Luckily I did it in the bath so they couldn't jump all over my room.My final complaint would be that, if you use fine bug food such as bottled bug grub to feed your insects, as soon as you shake or tilt the housing unit to feed your reptiles, the food also goes flying around and ends up wasted. It's a good concept but it doesn't work in reality. Don't waste your money and I will be returning mine.

Good and bad features.
I have really mixed feelings about this cricket keeper as it has some really clever features but also some pretty major faults. This thing is huge! But I guess that’s good for the bugs and means that I can’t lose it, especially as it is bright green. It’s easy to put together and I like that it has parts for the bugs to climb. The food and water dish is a great idea, but also quite frustrating. The flap that automatically shuts when you remove the dish also covers most of the food which is silly and also if you happen to remove the dish when the insect is feeding it will come out with the bowl so you need to watch for that. The sponge is a great feature though.I like the removable base to help with cleaning. The lid is a pain though as it has to be perfectly aligned to shut properly but it isn’t clear how to do that so it takes some trial and error. It’s annoying. The whole thing is really solid and well made though. It’s definitely better than keeping the insects in the plastic pots they come in though. I just haven’t decided whether I really like this or not.

Easy to use
Love this thing. Easy to use once you get the hang of it. Disappointed they don’t have more! I want a couple more for my other feeder bugs. Hope they can get more in!

Better than any other cricket keeper!
I've been feeding crickets to my tarantulas for years, and despite trying lots of different ways to keep the crickets alive in regular cricket keepers, about half of them would always die in a stinky mess. It was a waste of time and money, and the smell was terrible. I was skeptical about the Neptonion keeper, but I was willing to try anything. And I'm so glad I did! I left out the middle baffle and placed the crickets' egg carton material between the other two baffles. I don't use the shaker feature but instead prefer to open the top and remove crickets as needed. And nearly 4 weeks after filling the keeper with crickets, I was able to feed the last of them—still healthy—to my spiders!! Only a couple died the whole time. I've NEVER been able to keep crickets alive and healthy that long, AND the keeper wasn't reaking of cricket grossness! I love the feeding tray (though the crickets do eat a bit of the sponge), the way the vertical orientation keeps insects off the floor of the keeper, and the "poop trap" that keeps it relatively clean and MUCH better smelling. I'm a better tarantula owner now because I have healthier feeders that I don't have to buy as often. I love this thing!

Lange lebendig, keine Fluchtversuche

Convenient and easy
We just got a bearded dragon pet and i bought this for 38.99. And we found this really helpful for keeping our crickets. Whether it's feeding or cleaning (and having them not jump out), I found this really helpful and helps to keep them healthy and alive for longer.

Great for raising Feeder insects
I recently tried the **NEPTONION Professional Cricket Keeper and Live Worm Organizer Tank**, which is designed for keeping crickets, dubia roaches, silkworms, and other feeder insects. One thing that stood out immediately was that this tank comes in **green**, unlike many clear containers on the market. Here's my review based on its design, functionality, and ease of use for keeping feeder insects.### **Design and Build**The **green color** of this tank is one of the first things I noticed, and while it’s not clear, it actually provides some advantages. The green material blocks out light more effectively than clear containers, which can help keep the insects calm. Many insects, like dubia roaches and crickets, prefer darker environments, so the colored container helps reduce stress for them. However, not being able to see inside as easily is a slight drawback if you want to monitor the insects without opening the tank. The **rubber seal** around the edges is another great feature. It creates an airtight seal that ensures no escapees, which is crucial when dealing with fast-moving insects like crickets or cockroaches. The rubber also helps keep odors contained, which can be an issue with feeder insects. Overall, the build quality feels durable and secure, with no weak spots or flimsy parts.### **Bug Dirt Management Function**One of the key features of this organizer is its **bug dirt management function**, which is very useful for keeping the habitat clean. The tank has a **grated bottom** or a separate compartment for waste and uneaten food, which makes it much easier to maintain cleanliness. This design prevents the insects from constantly sitting in their waste, which can promote better health and reduce the smell. This feature makes cleaning out the tank much simpler. Instead of having to remove all the insects to clean the entire container, you can just clean out the dirt and waste tray or grate, saving time and effort. The compartment for waste is easy to remove and wash, which is a big bonus.### **Size and Functionality**The tank is spacious enough for keeping a good number of feeder insects. I’ve been using it for crickets and dubia roaches, and they seem to have plenty of room to move around and feed. There are also **air vents** built into the design, which ensures proper ventilation without risking any escapes. The vents are small enough to keep even the tiniest insects inside.Another thing I like about the tank is that it’s **modular**. You can adjust the internal dividers to create different sections if you want to keep different types of insects separated, or if you want to manage feeding and egg-laying spaces separately. The compartments also help with **keeping feeder insects organized**, which is great if you're managing multiple colonies or types of feeders.### **Ease of Use**This tank is really easy to use. The **rubber seal** and **snap-on lid** make opening and closing the tank simple without risking any escapes. Even though it’s green and not clear, the top opening allows easy access to the insects when you need to feed them or clean the tank. The **bug dirt management system** really cuts down on maintenance time. Instead of needing to completely empty the tank to clean it, I only need to slide out the dirt tray, give it a rinse, and replace it. This makes it much more efficient, especially if you have a lot of insects to manage.### **What It's Best For**I’ve used the **NEPTONION tank** for both **crickets and dubia roaches**, and it works well for both. The **green color** keeps them calm, and the **rubber seal** ensures that none of them escape, which is always a concern with fast-moving insects like crickets. The size is also adequate for keeping a medium-sized colony of dubia roaches, with enough room for them to breed and feed.It also works for **silkworms and superworms**, although you’ll need to make sure to clean out the waste management system regularly, as superworms in particular can generate a lot of waste. The **ventilation system** helps prevent mold or odor buildup, which is important for keeping the insects healthy.### **Pros**- **Green color reduces stress**: The green material blocks light, helping to keep insects calm.- **Rubber seal**: Creates an airtight, escape-proof environment and helps contain odors.- **Bug dirt management system**: Easy to clean, with a grated or removable dirt compartment to separate waste from the insects.- **Modular design**: Internal dividers allow for organization and separation of different types of insects or functions (feeding, breeding).- **Spacious**: Offers plenty of room for keeping multiple feeder insects or breeding colonies.- **Good ventilation**: Proper air circulation without risking any escape.### **Cons**- **Not clear**: The green color makes it harder to see inside the tank, so you’ll need to open it to check on the insects.- **Size limitations**: While it’s a good size for most feeder insects, if you’re keeping larger colonies or multiple species, you might need more than one tank.### **Final Thoughts**The **NEPTONION Professional Cricket Keeper and Live Worm Organizer Tank** is a solid choice if you’re looking for a durable, easy-to-maintain enclosure for feeder insects like crickets, dubia roaches, and superworms. The **green color** helps keep the insects calm, and the **bug dirt management system** simplifies cleaning and maintenance. While the color means you can’t easily monitor your insects without opening the tank, the **rubber seal** and well-ventilated design make it highly functional and secure. If you’re serious about keeping feeder insects healthy and contained, this is a great tank that balances functionality with ease of use. I’d recommend it for anyone who needs a reliable setup for managing feeder insects, whether for pets or breeding purposes.
