This is a great little book full of wonderful ideas of how to do cosmetics naturally with lots of recipes. Gave it to a friend who is a gardener so she can grow and make things. However, you can also use with bought items too. Looks easy to make the items

It's a straight up recipe book, nothing more, it doesn't talk about the different ingredients properties, nothing on shelf life or once opened use by date, and there's no chat about what the recipe itself is mainly for. There is a bit at the start of the book however that's worth a read. I was disappointed in the fact that there was no soap recipes either.Overall its a good book though for recipes, but you'll have to be experienced at making stuff previously and know a few things about the different ingredients etc.

My complaint with all these books is the lack of an editorial eye. The ideas etc are good but the recipes provide little information on how much you'll end up with to plan the best container. With no pictures of the finished product either, you can be left wondering whether what you have is right.

It's a good read for recipes and some very touch base information.However it lacks explanation as to why each ingredient is used, what do they do and there purpose in the said recipe. Also need a bit explanation on each recipe's shelf life, substitutes for ingredients and how to increase their shelf life.

This book seems to be perpetuating the all preservatives are bad myth. None of the formulas contain any form of preservative so are guaranteed to generate bacteria. Also no solubilisers in the essential oil and water formulas While the intention is good to give some natural options for body care there are much safer options out there.
