Heavy Hold Pomade

PROS: 1) excellent hold for short/shortish hair 2) re-activates with water 3) only need a small amount = long lasting tub CONS: 1) Sticky feel unlike the AC normal hold pomade 2) hair is slightly dullened I have strong black hair which has a fine tolerance to a short cut. By that, I mean that there’s a fine balance between cutting my hair short and spiking it. Fortunately, my regular hairdresser knows that balance, but, this American Crew Strong Hold Pomade covers any errors. I had been using my wife’s hairdresser, but she was very hit and miss depending on what was going on with her life I’d either look like a superstar or a hedgehog. This pomade compensated massively until I decided to go back to my own hairdresser. You only need a small amount, even though the temptation might be to take more. This is because when you try to rub this on your hands it sort of sticks hard. HOWEVER, if you work it into WET/DAMP hair it goes in easily and covers well. Blowdrying for a minute after is enough to set it. I get up at 0400hrs to be at my office for 0900hrs. Sometimes I have my shower the night before to save waking my wife at stupid o’clock. I always look like I’ve been in a fight when I wake up. AC Strong hold Pomade gets my hair looking immaculate before I drive to work in a very quick time. The one real downside is that it tends to make my hair look a little dull. I’ve solved this by using the AC regular/normal hold pomade as a finishing touch. I use just a tiny amount spread over after blow drying and I get the best of both worlds, shine and great hold. There is a sort of hard feeling to my hair, but it doesn’t look unnatural. Buy this, it’s Dottore approved!

If I was on a desert island I wouldn't be using hair products but if I could only take one this would be it. It is not what I would expect from a pomade as it is not greasy and it is very water soluble. Smell is ok but nothing special - a non-intrusive grownup smell. Great hold all day. Looks good with either a comb run through it for a 1930's smartness or just shaped by hand for something less formal but still composed. If you brush the stiffness out there are still enough oils to maintain a conditioned hold. I'd call it more of a gel wax than a pomade. I've tried a lot of high hold and shine and this is the best (previously I was a big fan of AC pomade but now think the heavy hold pomade is better)

Provides a solid hold without needing much product. Does exactly what it says and lasts well throughout the day.

Used this for years strong hold after trying out many products this was the one for me I can recommend

Not a very strong hold

I've tried several hair waxes from American Crew, but none of them had a strong hold for my hair. Now I've found this pomade, perfect for a strong hold on my spiky hair.

i've been struggling to find a product that has done exactly what this does, it smells great, uses only a tiny amount of product, doesn't feel stiff or sticky when in the hair and the hold is as described, the only product i have found that has helped with my frizz

Questa cera è fantastica! Ha una tenuta forte ma allo stesso tempo i capelli rimangono comunque morbidi. Cioè non diventano cemento come se fosse gel, ma l'effetto è straordinario. Inoltre è abbastanza malleabile non si asciuga subito come tante cere, ma si ha tutto il tempo per sistemare e/o cambiare il look ai propri capelli. In fine ha un effetto bagnato, che da quel tocco di eleganza, insomma da sera. Sostanza, la ricomprerò sicuramente.
