Rust for Rustaceans: Idiomatic Programming for Experienced Developers : Gjengset, Jon: desertcart.in: Books Review: As expected Review: Jon Gjengset, a prominent figure in the Rust community, known for his live-coding sessions on YouTube, Gjengset's expertise and dedication to the language are unquestionable. However, the book falls short of expectations due to its convoluted explanations and lack of clarity. For a subject like Rust, which is known for its steep learning curve, simplicity and clarity in explanations are vital. Unfortunately, Gjengset's book is often difficult to follow, leaving readers feeling overwhelmed. A significant drawback is the lack of diagrams, which could have been helpful in breaking down complex concepts.

Note: Other reviews talk about code formatting issues with the Kindle version, but these all seem to have been fixed. --- Jon Gjengset is a fantastic educator, best known for his "Crust of Rust" series on YouTube. This book covers a lot of the content from there (and more) in a readable format for easy reference. I'd recommend combining the two, using this book as “consolidation material” to finish parsing what you *almost* understood from the videos. There's a bit of a skill floor here, and this book isn't really for complete beginners, but if you've read The Rust Programming Language and thrown together a few programs, you'll find this to be a very nice "next step." Many of the more confusing language features are covered in-depth in a way that's unlikely to go out of date, and a lot of what you'll learn will help you in other programming languages as well. This book is fairly dense, but by the end you should be ready to tackle real-world projects in a way that might feel intimidating right now. Overall, it's a must-buy for anyone who wants to take their rust knowledge from dabbling to professional.

Best book I have ever read in Rust. The problems of code formatting will be resolved soon and it's not too much annoying. The book covers more advanced than the other. I have learn more while reading thibook than coding for months. I suggest you to watch videos on the YouTube channel of the owner to have concrete cases.

Although it is one of the hardest books to read in my life, it is very informative and useful for rust developers.
