Fantastic hair chalk
Ordered this with Prime so got it next day (which was Sunday). The packaging itself looks nice, bright and colourful. This is going to be a christmas present for my oldest daughter (she is 9) and this nice pink and girly packaging will immediately appeal to her. I didn't want to try out all the pens (obviously i don't want my daughter thinking they have already been used) so i brought one colour out to try on my own hair. There is a really good selection of colours to choose from. Since they are actual pens it makes it so much easier to use on the hair and there is virtually no mess (I've used spray hair colour at halloween and that was so messy and smelt terrible). My girls have very light blonde hair so i can imagine that the colours will show up really well. My hair is red and i did need to put on a couple of layers of colour but it did show up really well, i chose the blue to try as wasn't sure if the yellow or orange would work on my particular hair colour. It also looks amazing even after i brushed it (wasn't sure if it would brush out or not). The colour i tested out did wash out my hair with no issues at all. These can also be used as face paints which is an added bonus. I would definitely recommend these :)

Oil pastel effect, but vivid and long lasting
Quite impressed as they give a distinct colour - most of the pencils. It will depend on the hair colour. My daughter’s dark blond hair took the blue, pink and red so easily and although I applied a real unhealthy thick layer, the colour looked good.Took a couple of washes to remove from the hair and in the end some washing up liquid to get off her scalp as she kept telling me it wouldn’t come off. She won’t let me in the bathroom to help anymore, her being 11!Hair to me felt very waxy and I personally couldn’t have lasted long with that heaviness on my hair, but for a pubescent girl who is reluctant to wash hair without full drama, this didn’t seem a problem!Oh, it does come off onto hands on touch (without losing effect on hair), and clothing - but washes out.

A good temporary hair crayon that does actually work!
We have tried a few hair chalks, unsuccessfully, they just haven't worked on our hair. After reading the reviews for this product, we thought we'd give it a try at my Daughters 9th Birthday party.First point to note is that these are not chalks, they are more wax crayons in a plastic casing, similar to a chunky pen.We tried them dry on my Daughters blonde hair, her friends dark brown hair, my mid-brown hair, my Moms dark brown/silver-grey hair and my Aunts coloured blonde hair - the result - these hair crayons worked on all of our hair!! Obviously, some colours showed up better than others on each of our different hair colours and textures but there is at least two colours in this pack that will work on your hair type!Tip: they work better on the scalp area, as you can push harder when using them.On longer hair, put some form of resistance behind the hair, to allow you to push the crayon harder down along the hair. The colours are more vibrant when you step outside. They do leave your hair quite sticky/tacky/clumpy. You can't run your fingers through your hair when you have used these.Washability: all the colours washed out first time from my Daughters blonde hair BUT they leave a greasy/tacky residue on the scalp hair. Two or more washes will be needed to remove the residue. We washed them out the same day, before bed.Overall, happy to of found a fun, temporary hair colour that works :)This review is for Girlzone Hair Chalk Studio

Work well on blonde hair, easy to use.
I wasn't expecting great things from these but my daughter was desperate for some colours in her hair for a school event so I decided to order them.As you can see from the pictures they're actually very effective The name 'chalks' is quite misleading as they are more of a creamy consistency, like kohl pencil and do make a mess of your hands during application. The colours also migrate onto clothes although they did seem to wash out ok.They also do leave the hair slightly dull, due to the texture of the product and tend to cause the hairs to clump together. However, they are very effective as I said and for the price you get a nice selection of colours and the amount in each tube is quite generous. One last point is that even after a wash, the darker colours do persist very slightly and it takes a few washes to completely remove all traces. This would only be a problem on blonde hair I imagine.I've awarded 5 stars as they exceeded the lowish expectation I had of them and do do exactly what they promise. I'd definitely buy again.

Good but can stain😑
I have naturally light blonde hair. I used the blue hair chalk and the colours looked amazing at first. My older sister used purple on her light brown hair, which also looked amazing at first. Both were vivid and awesome. We loved the colour while it lasted! But, it rubbed off easily and went on everything (clothes, furniture, etc. It washed off these things quite easily) but still rubbed off, after wearing it for days. It also faded quickly from our hair.On the third day I went to wash the blue out of my blonde hair. The blue washed out straight away but it left my hair with a green colour. After eight washes the green finally started to come out, but it was a fight! When my older sister went to wash the purple out of her brown hair, it came out easily for her. However, the dye did drip everywhere and didn’t come out cleanly, requiring an overly thorough wash. The blond needed even more work than this, needing EIGHT of these thorough washes. Therefore, I would not recommend for blond hair.UPDATE: upon using again, over the brown hair (we didn't risk over blonde again!!) the chalk didn't rub everywhere as we heat styled it in with straightener and used less of it!! hope this helps
