Almost all content could have been covered in a few blog posts

I started a company about 10 months ago. There are some great tips in here about starting your business and a nice section on marketing. I was distracted by all the references to the mega rich and doing comparison to a your startup company compared to those once in a lifetime type of companies. While it could be you company that could be the next Amazon, Facebook or Virgin records, most of us are enjoying the smaller hard working efforts. The section about the marketing was on target and very helpful. There is a lot to be said about this subject and this book does have a great introduction into this area. If you are interested in starting a small business, especially a service industry business, there a plenty of useful tips to get you started. I have it one star less because each chapter can be very complex and there many books about each section. There are some good nuggets in here, but you will need something deeper to really start a business. This book hits the high points and should be used more as a overview guide. If you need to understand if starting a business is for you, then there are some great worksheets to help you figure that out.

It was a great learningI've been hesitating about creating my own thing for a while and I've bought all the entrepreneurship books on the market. From this one, I liked the easy-to-follow step-by-step guide. I like how every chapter is the next step in your business.

However, I believe this is not only a perfect book for someone who's starting a consulting business but also for those like me that have run their consulting business for years. this book provides great tips and ideas on how to improve different aspects of my business (for instance online presence and networking). Five stars!
