In my search for a candle-making kit, I found several that were falsely advertised. This one is legit. It came with everything advertised and worked great.My only complaint is that instructions are perhaps overly simplified. Check out some instructions online for tips on how to measure the right amount of wax, what temperature to add fragrances, etc. For example, be sure to melt your wax using a double boiler, I just but the provided kettle in a pan of boiling water, and it worked great. Also, the thermometer attaches conveniently to the kettle. I had to fiddle with it for a minute but eventually figured out how to attach it.There isn't much wax provided, but enough for at least 3 small candles. (we used empty oui yogurt jars). It's the perfect amount for beginners.

I really like this entire kit overall, how ever, I don't know if I am doing something wrong but the wicks that it came with are not good. They won't stay lit. None of my candles are staying lit at all, and if they do for maybe an hour, the waxy won't melt as fast as the wick burns itself out. Would not buy again or even as a gift because of this. Reason I got this was due to needing wicks and I thought, well maybe get a kit. Now I have used both the candle wax it came with and recycled candles I have and still no good. I even tried to put them in a bit of melted wax to coat them more. Nope, just burns out.

Pay attention to the size of the pitcher. The handle on it is nice but by the time you set it in a pan of hot water the handle is low and it can get hot. A taller one would’ve better. The instructions are minimal so watch videos and check Pinterest as there are so many variables to candle making.

Had a idea for a girlfriend gift---Teacup Candle. This kit had the PITCHER for melting wax, the WAX and THERMOMETER along with a STIRRER, to get all the wax melted; WiCKs with the little metal thingy at the bottom ready to trim to size; WICK HOLDER thingy so that wick would stand up straight while I poured the melted wax and couple more GIZMOS that I haven't used yet. Poured it into my mom's fancy teacups. ADORABLE!!! Big Hit!!! Anybody can do this. Worth every penny.
