Game Changer for Pulling Exercises - No More Grip Fatigue
I can't recommend these enough. I wish GymReaper hooks had been around when I first started lifting. They make a huge difference in pulling exercises like lat pulldowns, deadlifts, cable crunches, and rows. My grip is no longer the limiting factor. No more finger fatigue. No more straining my wrists and palms. I can focus on the actual lift instead of worrying about my grip giving out. These are an absolute game changer for anyone serious about lifting heavier. Excellent quality. Function much better than lifting straps. Great value for the money.

Well built, and easy to take off and on
Top knotch product. Well made, and very helpful on back days. Helps you improve your mind-muscle connection. Buying the elbow sleeves and wrist straps now.

Game changer!
I’ve been lifting for over a decade but didn’t discover hooks until about a month ago. I have short, stumpy fingers so losing my grip on heavy deadlifts is a problem. The first pair I bought were accidentally run over by a car before I tried them. Even then the hooks held their shape. The best feature is you can corkscrew in your feet then simply hook the bar. You know how hard it is to make adjustment after you have your straps cinched up. These will feel very strange at first. You won’t be able to wrap your thumb around the bar so will feel like you don’t have control. You have to learn to just forget about your grip and trust the hooks. You can concentrate more on the rest of your form. I do 5-6 reps at 450+ plus and the wrist straps stay tight and secure. They’re comfortable enough that I don’t have to re-wrap between sets and can get my belt snug without having to take them off. They work great for both straight and cross grip. The only negative is they don’t work well with dumbbells because they’re too wobbly without being able to wrap your thumb.

Not for really large hands
I have fairly large hands - XXL or XXXL gloves depending on the glove. I also have large wrists - 8.5 to 9 inch circumference depending where you measure. I have two issues with this product. The first is the wrist strap - its too small for me. I can get it to work but it is VERY tight so I have to release the strap between sets or my hands will go numb. I tried not pulling it tight but the Velcro comes undone mid-lift this way. So, either add another inch or two to the strap and/or extending the Velcro surface would fix this. The second is the hook placement/size. It isn't adjustable to I find my self with a very unnatural weight placement in my hand - more like the top of my palm than the start of my fingers (so my fingers are wrapped around the hook much more than the bar if I used no hook). Some sort of adjustable hook length or larger buyable hook size would fix this issue. This is a much smaller deal and I might get used to it. I do really like this product and it does alleviate the problems I was having with several lifts (my hands will lose strength before my back) and allows me to get a more complete workout. The wrist cushioning is excellent, the hook has a great non-slip coating and is a perfectly made for lifting and unhooking with no issue. So, for me, this is a 1 or 2 inch strap and a 1/2 inch hook adjustment from being a 5 star product.

Great for deadlifts
Great for going for a 1RM where grip strength is the limiting factor. Very durable and padding is great.

Good gear
They work great for me. I use them exclusively for shrugs. I’ve never been able to get any use out of wrist straps. Can finally work traps to exhaustion without grip being an issue.

They’re alright
They function alright. Good color and durable. I’d actually recommend a good set of wrist straps over these though. I started to get elbow pain when I used these to often. I think it’s because the angle you need to use these. Everyone has different biomechanics though, so they might be better for you. They do help with gripping the bar though.
