Autodesk Fusion 360

I needed this book for a college course and it was in excellent condition

I started to learn Fusion 360, as a complete novice, by working through instructional YouTube videos but quickly found this a slow and limited way to learn so sifted through the numerous guide books that were available. After a long search I eventually settled on this book as at the time of writing it was compatible with the current Fusion 360 software version and provides instruction from beginner to intermediate levels. The book is very well laid out in twelve chapters complete with a table of contents and index for referencing. Each chapter is broken down into sections to focus on each and every aspect of the software and towards the end of each section there are guided tutorials and unguided challenges. Where there has been an update from the previous version of the software this is also identified at the relevant points within the book. Reviewers of the previous version of this book have commented about the example figure drawings being faint and poor quality. I didn’t feel that this was a problem and wondered if it could be to prevent pages from being photocopied and pirated. I have really enjoyed working through this book and some of the exercises can be challenging but it really is worth persevering. The trickiest part I’ve found so far is associated with “constraints” and getting the blue sketch lines to turn black. But once you understand what the software is looking for the process becomes easier. Overall I feel that the book is worth the money and I would strongly recommend it to a novice looking to learn and use Fusion 360.

Autodesk Fusion 360 - A Power Guide for Beginners and Intermediate Users (5th Edition) Initial flick through does not indicate covering anything on Manufacture. Will go through some of the content so this review may change. There are 700+ pages in this book so covering manufacture might of been a bit too much anyway but it would of been nice to know this.

I’m a newbie to Fusion360 but have experience of other CAD packages. I picked up the basics from YouTube courses. But needed a reference book and more details. This book delivers it in spades. Well written. Useful pictures. Useful worked examples. I’m so glad I bought this. Book.
