Dear customer, our AMEIFU air purifier is very easy to change the filter. Here are the steps to change the replacement filter: 1. Turn off the air purifier and unplug from the wall outlet 2. Take out the used air filter by removing the 3. Remove the plastic packaging from the new filter. 4. Install the filter, make sure the white side facing the back air inlet cover 5. Probably because by moving closer to the unit, you are stirring up dust or maybe some particles are coming off of your clothes. The PM 2.5 sensor detects the a higher concentration in the air and speeds up the fan (PM stands for Particulate Matter) The sensor can detect particles that are too small to see with the naked eye.
