Works great and holds a lot of pepper so you don't have to constantly refill it! Looks pretty on the counter too :)

It is a simple grinder tray. what more can I say. It does look good and it solid wood.

Okay, after owning this for about six months, I want to lower my rating to three stars. I'm still just as in love with the aesthetic, but in terms of function, I wish I had bought a different pepper mill. The actual grinder is not the best quality, so I get really inconsistent grinds with a lot of big chunks (like 1/3 of the peppercorn). Also, the compartment that holds the peppercorns is very narrow, so it only holds a little bit. You have to refill often, and when you get close to empty, the big chunk problem I mentioned gets worse. It's not horrible, and I will keep this pepper mill, but for function I wish I'd gotten one that's higher quality. For aesthetics I still love it.Initial five-star review:The one I got happens to be two different colors of wood. I know some people in the reviews were complaining about that because they wanted it to be one solid piece. Personally, I LOVE this look and think I lucked out with the two different colors. I just think it's really cute. Of course, they're all slightly different, so you can't predict what yours will look like when you order. I also love the shape, which would be the same for all of them. In terms of functionality, it suits my needs. It grinds pepper easily. You can adjust coarseness of grind, but I'm fine on one setting. It's easy to tap off excess pepper before putting it back down, so pepper collecting underneath it is not really an issue.

I am really enjoying my new pepper mill! It can give you course or fine pepper depending on your preference and how you tighten the nut. I wish it was a bit bigger, but it does the job superbly! I highly recommend it!
