the very worst quadcopter I have ever had the displeasure of owning
By far, the very worst quadcopter I have ever had the displeasure of owning. I have had three of these quadcopters over the past month - all new, and none of them worked out of the box - two of them have been returned except the one I bought from Gearbest (found out that the cost of returning it was $62.50 and you'll never see a refund - they never receive it from Chinese customs). I have tried everything from calibrating over and over again to updating the firmware several times. One of them flew one amazingly glorious time - no crashes and no problems. I flew it proudly until the battery died and then I carefully brought it home and kept it safely on the shelf until the following week. Brought it to the local JC expecting another awesome experience, but alas, the first thing it did was dump itself headfirst into the grass. So much for calibrating. Now it sits on the shelf unless I need a door stop. Beware of anything made by WLtoys. It is pure, unadulterated Chinese junk. Do yourself a favor and wait until you have enough money to buy a DJI Phantom instead of wasting your hard-earned cash on a Chinese knockoff.

RTH not always working -> I lost it
Had some fun with it, easy to pilot, stable even with wind BUT :Yesterday at 15 :20, I flew my drone from the same place as always.Everything went ok, it was coming back home by its own after a first successful flight.I corrected a little bit his trajectory as he was going to land in my neighbour garden.Suddenly, he did not reply anymore to the remote, went up and disappeared to the city.Could not do anything to make him come back to me.Batteries in the remote are 90%, and battery of the V303 was full. The drone is lost, and I do not know if he landed or crashed.

Read instructions/Watch YouTube first or be prepared for some frustration.....
I didn't buy mine from Amazon...rumph! I bought my first one from gearbest.com as have many others. Early productions were plagued with poor soldering and in my case a shorted connection. They come with nothing resembling a warranty from these Chinese sellers that would be akin to protections we get from Amazon. Yeah, I know, but these weren't here when I was searching. The instructions are limited at best and you must resort to YouTube for good directions.So...there are a few RC blog sites filled with hobbyists who Crack open their quads and upgrade and or toy with the flight controller's software. Some of the advice found there is patently wrong. I bricked my quad after I tried to remedy something that was very minor. I later parted it out for more than I paid for it, as parts availability is limited in the US. But I did learn how quads work. BTW, it did have a few rough landings and a rescue before it submerged in my pool, all potential contributors to it's demiseMy 2nd one, was an updated version from Banggood. It has been flawless, stable, all functions work properly, it was then loaded with a 2D gimbal which direct wires to belly of v303 and added an RC LOGGER tx for FPV using GoPro3 +. We have had zero issues, no crashes and we installed propeller guards as must. If your quad brushes against any foliage, it will crash hard.YOU HAVE TO calibrate prior to first flight or you are asking for issues. The return to home function works perfect +/- 6ft. Without GPS lock, green-green flashing light, it'll be almost impossible to control, especially in a breeze, which is a major contributor for neophyte fly aways. So use commonsense, start off low altitude, learn the functions/controls and calibrate by doing the dance (those who have calibrated quads know what that is) before every flight, when the warning lights start flashing red due to low battery....land it soon. If you follow these basics, it'll be an enjoyable device. If you open boxes, flip on switches and look at the instructions later (like I do), you'll be frustrated and blame the device when in fact it's user error.

Great Quadcopter for someone thats not quite ready to go $1000 for DJI or something!
I also bought my WL V303 from GearBest and have had ZERO problems out of it. I didn't have to calibrate it or anything. It flew great right out of the box. This is really a great quad to learn on after toy-type quads and before going DJI. Just balance your propellers first. That part is crucial to avoid vibration. This thing will also equip the Walkera 2-D gimbal nicely for super smooth video with your GoPro. I also bought the Jolly Logic altimeter to record how high it will go. It is still flying great after about a dozen flights. The battery doesn't last very long at about 10 minutes max. It is even less than that since I added the gimbal, and a cheap Boscam FPV transmitter. It won't really hold a larger capacity battery as I am at max take off weight with all of the accessories that I've added. I plan to try the dual-battery mounts with 2 2200MAh batteries to see if flight times improve. Buy an extra battery charger and a lot of extra batteries. I like the Tenergy 2700MAh from All-battery.com. They fit great and aren't too long like others from gearbest and banggood.
