I'm giving this product 5 stars because of the immediate benefits of using this oil on my skin, facial and all areas with eczema. I cannot remember a time when my face has looked this clear, free from acne, pimples, dry patches, and dark spots. I suffered a chemical burn across my forehead and near my eyes. After applying the emu oil consistently for 2 weeks at night, my redness, dryness, and hard skin is now totally free from any damage. Like many other purchasers posting reviews, the emu oil had a very pungent smell, so I was concerned about the product being rancid and the possibility of suffering any side effects from possible free radicals; however, I could not afford to throw the product away or defer its use due to my damaged skin and thank God I used it because I've had great success! I would advise other users to place the emu oil in the refrigerator overnight when not in use. The emu oil will harden, so take it out about 30-60 minutes before use for the oil to become liquid for you to use it. This product is worth the purchase and I will certainly purchase again. I have extremely dry and sensitive skin, and after washing my face, I apply rosehip seed oil (during the day and night). However, at night, I now apply a layer of emu oil on any areas that I feel are dry and to any small pimple that may try and pop up and by morning my skin is clear. OMG!!!!!! This oil! I suffer from a condition called stasis dermatitis which has caused the skin on my lower legs to become very dark, dry, cracked, with a hard leather like feel. I have seen dermatologist, vascular specialist, endocrinologist and general medical doctors only to be told there was nothing that could reverse the damage done to the skin. The only thing to do is stop it from becoming worse. Sitting at a desk all day, I tend to experience swelling in my lower extremities which has caused my damaged skin to split and it takes a very long time to heal. Even after "healing" the area would reamin white and pink, raw looking. It makes me super self conscious to expose that part of my leg, which means I only wear maxi dresses and long pants. I don't even like getting a pedicure anymore. I have tried so many things but with no results. When I heard about this oil I felt it couldn't hurt to try it. This has changed my life and given me so much hope. My legs ACTUALLY HEALING!!!! The raw looking patches of skin are now becoming a darker pink and in some areas going back to brown! My skin is starting to feel softer as well. I can not yet tell if my skin is getting back to it's natural color, but I have just started doing a scrub on my legs once a week to get rid of the dead skin, so we will see. I am so optimistic. I can not believe I have found something that works. Now if I could just get this on an automatic order, i would be in heaven.

Been trying it for two weeks and I notice that my skin is softer, and helps dark spots fade (but not that much). It helps my hands not dry out as much after hand washing and my skin overall loves it. It also strengthens my nails because my nails never grow, but since using it, they're growing and not breaking off. Now, there is a slight odor to it, but it's not noticeable. I applied it to my scalp, and I notice it is drying to my hair, but I am trying to see if it will help regrow thin spots (chemical burn from relaxer use) to see if it can enliven the follicles. The only flaw is that it comes in 2oz bottles so if you want a large amount, you really have to be prepared to spend your money. But it's worth it.

It pains me to leave this review but I have to clear my mind. I've been trying different brands of Emu Oil for the last year or so. Lagoon Essentials has been my third. I switched it up to see if there was a difference with the brands after all - emu oil is emu oil right? Wrong.Of the other two brands I've used Lagoon was by far the most runny and the worst smelling I'm still trying to use... and I use this stuff everyday on my face and anywhere else I please. I read the reviews about the smell of it and scoffed because I always feel that some people are just ridiculous. Who cares how it smells as long as it works.However, after the first gag inducing application to my face I had to agree. I tried over the next few days to place that familiar fresh stench and finally realized what it was. It smells like chicken guts. You know the fresh smell when you just clean a chicken? Well I do. It's like chicken skin or innards or something. And as much as I love to tread my face at night so it glows in the morning, I'd also like to stay married.So I guess scent does matter. I'm sorry Lagoon.I'm going to hold my breath and use the rest of this bottle, but I'll be going back to my original brand (which I won't name). But that brand is thick, scentless and more effective than the other two I've used.I really wanted to like this one because of the applicator, because the first brand I used wasted a bit because of the cheap bottle. But I don't mind one bit. I'm buying it. I really don' t recommend this product, unless they find a way to improve its consistency and smell.UPDATE: 3/10/2018A thick fat like substance has settled to the bottom of the bottle and won't melt. I thought it was the temperature, but I left it out in the sun and the thick mass is still there, separate from the rest of liquid in the bottle. Lagoon Essentials you really have to do better than this.

Aweful product. This product has a horrible smell and is very oily- does not absorb into the skin. I question the fact that this is really Emu oil.

This oil is pretty decent. When you order this oil they give you a booklet of all its uses and what it does for you. I mainly purchased this product for my acne and my dark spots that come from acne and just have to be honest. This did not help my acne at all, however it did fade my dark spots tremendously! It also does not help with any swelling of any sort, as it is suppose to. Maybe I didn't use it long enough, I don't know. But very good if you want a good moisturizer and want even skin tone. Would highly recommend for that.
