If you're looking for that vanilla powder from Starbuck's...
I don't know if this is the brand Starbuck's uses for vanilla powder in the little glass bottles, but if you're looking to purchase a like item, this is your best bet. Again, I am not sure if this is the same thing they use, but it seems to taste just like it.If you're looking for powder to make frappucinos, I would NOT recommend it. I have tried it, using xantham gum as the thickener, (which a pinch goes very far in thickening) and found the drink to be too chalky. If you're okay w/ dairy, I would buy the frap mixes, which will probably taste better and save money. As a person that does not consume dairy, I was hoping this would work for that purpose alone, but since it is too chalky, I am using it to sprinkle in coffee every day.I would purchase this again for the coffee flavoring alone. I like to add this along w/ Starbuck's vanilla syrup and it pairs very well together.

Smell is not great, my first container had a damaged safety seal, but tastes good in my espresso
I agree with other reviewers that the smell is more unfavorable that I had hoped. The smell from a distance is not too bad but if you open the container it is not a rich vanilla smell but more like cardboard. That being said I was using regular alcohol based vanilla to flavor my latte's and mocha's, and going to this I like the flavor better than the alcohol vanilla. I could do without the dextrose, but I simply replace some of the chocolate with this and it is quite good. The first container I received, the safety seal was broken, but does not look like it was tampered with, just a poor manufacturing process. Amazon sent a replacement very quickly so I am happy. Were the smell better I would give it 5 stars.

Great Replacement for Vanilla Flavoring
Because of food allergies I cannot use most ready-made frostings. So, I have to make it from scratch using powdered sugar, water and butter. Just to give the frosting a little more flavor I put vanilla powder in it. I'm not sure why this is, but the vanilla powder seems to work better than traditional (liquid) vanilla. Cook's says they're interchangeable, but apparently not for me. Nevertheless, this product is great: easy to work with, wonderful flavor, and enables me to have something good, since most gluten-free, soy-free and dairy-free products aren't!

Best vanilla EVER!
I do a LOT of baking. A good quality vanilla is essential to creating the perfect baked good. I tend to purchase liquid vanillas but even the high quality ones have an astringent flavor that comes from the alcohol base - blech. So I bought this. I double the amount called for and it creates delicately vanilla flavored and scented cakes, cookies, pies, more. No more alcohol base vanilla for me!Oh, and this makes the absolute BEST and most DIVINE buttercream frosting. Heaven in a mixing bowl.

Starbucks vanilla powder but how many calories?
Same stuff Starbucks buys. Don't know how much they pay for same size but and employee said it's expensive for them.I just bought this again. I didn't realize it is not pure vanilla but a combo with Dextrose I believe. Neither orders showed caloric info. I love this with Gold Peak sweetened tea

If you like the Starbucks vanilla powder
this is it. I saved an old spices bottle, it needs to be something that doesn't clash so no old curry jar, and refill it form time to time. I do not use it but my wife loves it.

It's a fine powder.
It's not as strong as another brand I use, but the price is right. You need to put it in a shaker or you'll use too much of it at once. It's a fine powder.

Just vanilla sugar
This tastes like sugar. Just a mild, vanilla-tasting sugar. It's not like the vanilla powders I have used before, and doesn't seem strong enough to be of much use. I think I would spend my money elsewhere next time.
