MOSPRO Automatic Pet Feeder, Programmable Feeder with Intelligent Voice Recorder & Timer, Large Food Dispenser with LCD Display and 4.5L Capacity

My vet recommended an automatic dispenser as a means to solving why my cat is scratching at doors all night long... maybe he's hungry. I spent hours researching and determining which was the best dispenser for me. I bought this one - mid to upper price range hoping that it would be helpful. I was wrong. I gave it one star because it does dispense food 3 times a day, and it is easy to refill/clean. BUT! As the food amount lowers, the sides of food do not cave in, the food just stays built up with a little funnel of emptiness in the middle. This means that unless you are checking the food levels pretty much every day, there is a chance that it will not dispense any actual food even though it sounds like it is. Also, the food regularly gets stuck in the chute and I have to actually use my fingers to dig it out for them. I'm glad it dispenses two of the three meals when I'm mostly around so I can help the cats out. It was not very easy to set up, though you only have to push a couple buttons, if you mess up or get confused, you have to start all over again and keep going through all the things you need to set. And while you're thinking well you're just dumb and can't read directions, I had the directions in front of me. The process was different for setting the time verses the amounts of feedings verses how much you want to spill out. I mixed up buttons to press. The voice activator thing is creepy and scared my cats, so I had to nix that. And finally, for some reason my dispenser randomly changed times as to when it was going to dispense food last week and so I never knew when it was going to go off. It was really annoying to have to go through and reprogram everything because it malfunctioned. I don't know how much longer I'm going to keep using it because I don't think I can use it for when I go away for a weekend as I wouldn't be there to pick the food out of the chute for them... so I'd say buy a different one!

We purchased this feeder to feed our pet cat, 1/2 cup of food twice daily, while we were out of town. We received the feeder prior to our trip, and of course tried it out for a few days. It seemed to work great! A little recording of my voice came on three times, then the food was dispensed just as requested.Unfortunately, sometime during our trip, the feeder stopped working. A friend who was checking on the cat noticed the recording go off, but no food came out. Thankfully, she was there to notice and give him some food!We tried turning it off, we tried reprogramming our requests, but it just will no longer dispense food. It doesn't even make a sound like it is trying to dispense food.I don't want to just complain about what seemed to be a great product. But, this malfunction was very concerning to me and feel that others should be aware of it, as well. I mean, really, who cares if a little recording comes on or if the lid stays put or whatever when it's not reliably feeding your pet!?

Seems to work basically well, but a few issues mean I will probably return it.1) Seems top -heavy - one of my cats has already shoved it around a bit, and figured out how to stick his paw up the chute to get extra pellets. I'd already ducktaped down the top, but still worried that he'll knock this over or just keep stealing free food up the chute.2) Recorder feature has a loud, awful static sound in the background, louder than your voice - and there is no volume control on it3) I see no way in the instructions to turn the recorder off once you've made a recording. You can change the recording, but not delete them entirely that I've been able to find. Since its so loud and awful sounding, I want it off to allow me to sleep in in the morning. (I tried taking out the batteries and unplugging it, but that didn't help).If your cat is less aggressive about trying to steal food from up the chute or knock the thing over, it's probably great. For me, probably won't work.

I purchased this feeder in an effort to prevent my cat from waking me at 5 a.m. every morning, meowing as if he might starve on the spot. Amazingly, it actually worked. This feeder does its job well and he's taken to hovering around the feeder at dawn versus my bedroom door. Needless to say, I'm quite glad I purchased it. The feeder dispenses pet food according to the operator's preferences, allowing you to customize portion sizes and times. You can opt to have several smaller portions dispense throughout the day or fewer, larger servings according to pet needs/preferences. Over all, it's a great product and I'm happy with it.That said, I don't love the function of the voice recorder. While the feeder offers a number of options for time and serving preferences, it offers none for the sound alerts. I really don't need to hear my own voice on repeat three times whenever it goes off and I wish the user had the option to use a preset chime or other sound in lieu of recording their own, but there is none. I opted to record a chime from my phone, which does work, but there isn't any way to clip the recording or alter the playback, so it plays back the chime followed by several seconds of static, then a pause, then does this again twice more. You can't adjust the length, volume, or number of repetitions and that makes for an extremely loud, annoying experience several times throughout the day. Whenever it sounds, everyone in the house has to stop their conversation and wait for it to go off for an unnecessarily long time. Trust me, your pet will learn the sound after about two feedings and they will sprint to the feeder within a second of the first chime sounding, making the length and number of alerts a bit excessive. (But would be nice to customize for pets with slower response times or hearing impairments).Additionally, a lid that locks in place would be nice, because your pet will likely figure out how to open the top and steal food. We have to tape ours down. My cat has also figured out how to push his paw up into the dispenser and release a few food pellets at a time, but that doesn't bother me as much because it would take him about an hour to get a full serving out and he usually just sneaks a few bites then tires of it. If your pet is on a regulated diet though, this could be an issue.Either way, it has solved the problem it was intended to solve and I'm happy with the purchase.
