Love my SE700!
I absolutely love my SE700! It is easy to use and makes a great beginner embroidery/sewing machine. At first, I was nervous to figure out how to use it but once you read over the manual, it was easy to figure it all out. Switching over from sewing to embroidery is simple. It sews so quality and smooth compared to a standard sewing machine. Downloading designs wirelessly and by USB is a nice feature. Overall, it is a great value for your money as a starter machine and somedays I debate on buying another so that I have two!

Lovely embroidery
The media could not be loaded. I bought this machine to replace a Bernina that I’ve had for at least 18 years. I was a little worried because the cost was low and I thought that because it was $499 that it wouldn’t be as good as a Bernina, which can range from anywhere from 1500 to 3000 or more. I decided to get this one though and I’m really grateful because it works great and also unlike the more expensive burner and other fancy sewing machines, this one does embroidery as well. I’ve had fabric that I’ve wanted to sew to make dresses for a long time, but I haven’t because I didn’t have the embroidery machine to embroider their collars with and I never thought that a cheap machine like this would actually work well, but it does. I was apprehensive because some reviews were bad but maybe that’s because they didn’t watch videos properly or didn’t actually read the manual but so far I’ve had it for less than 24 hours and I already love it. I also used it to finish another dress with the ham and the button holes that I had to make, and it worked out well along with sewing on the buttons. Only time will tell how the machine lasts, but so far it’s done more for me than my more expensive machine ever could. No regrets at all about buying it.

Great value. Money well spent. Paid for itself in one use.
Easy operation. Perfect for embroidery. Punches through thick patches to embroider numbers on Air Force stripes.

Love it!!
UPDATE:I decided to keep the machine. I searched for how to change the tension on the bobbin. Luckily I found the video and I was able to fix it. I opened the bobbin cover and I removed the bobbin case. I twisted the tiny screw a little bit. I put it back and I let the machine run again. Voilà! It's fixed! I found out that the perfect bobbin tension on my machine is 5. I've been making lots of stuff with the machine. Everything works perfectly now. The bobbin is also winded without any trouble. The reason I give 4 stars instead 5 is because I had to fix the problem by myself. It could be better if there is more details of the troubleshooting.----------------------This machine gave me a headache. If it's working it created beautiful embroidery. But it has lots of problems. This is my second machine. I returned the first one because it had the same issues. Apparently, the problems are still the same with the second machine.First of all, Brother shipped the machine using USPS. The shipping label was at the bottom. The mailman dropped the box upside down on the porch. Out of the box, it worked perfectly. Then the next day, the problems started showing. The bobbin thread keeps showing on the top. I changed to a new full-thread bobbin. I changed the tension to zero and the bobbin thread was still showing. I turned off the machine, unplugged it, and I removed the embroidery case. I plugged it in, attached the embroidery case, and turned it on. The issues remain. I used cutaway stabilizers and I never changed the settings. It drives me nuts! The problem also happened when I winded the bobbin. The thread went under the bobbin pose. The first time I did, it went smoothly. The second time was horrible! The thread gets tangled badly. It also happened on the first machine.I'm done with this machine. I will return it. I will try a different brand.

Fun!!
It’s fun to use. Instructional book not very clear. Going on U tube to learn was easier in some areas. If you have big hands you may find it difficult to maneuver the threading, needle etc, very compact. Does not seem to be a sturdy as others I have. Lots of wobbles & squeaks. But it does what it is suppose to do well. I put a picture of my first project ( edited for privacy) below .Embroidered & framed as gift.
