Not what I expected. Not impressed
This book discusses pressure canning and water bath canning, but doesn't show any recipes for either. The recipes only mention refrigeration. Then it mentions using ginger bug in a recipe, with no explanation what a ginger bug is. Very bad writing. I'm not impressed. Seems there's a lot of information that's missing, even for a beginner book. I will probably donate it to some library instead of keeping it, because it's not worth my time and effort to return it.

Love this book!
This book is perfect for a beginner, there is a ton of great recipes and how to store the foods to keep them safe. It also teaches what is happing, why it's happening, and even how to buy the best ingredients. This would make a great gift for a foodie. I'm excited to own it and look forward to making the recipes for years to come.

Disappointing - NOT a beginners guide
I've bought some poor recipe books in the past but this has to be the most disappointing. The paperback version looks like someone has photocopied this from a better version of the book with blurred photos and dull text. The Amazon title, the cover of the book and the Introduction all mention Kombucha but there is not a single recipe - one of the reasons I bought it.The author stresses the importance of measurements in the introduction then suggests vague amounts in the recipes (e.g. 1-3 teaspoons of salt). What is a pounding tool and should it be used in a glass bowl? Terrible book.
