Superior consistency and protection to the competitor, zero added sugar
This is a great product for those who get benefits from Gaviscon, but wish to use something more healthy and organic. Having tried Reflux Gourmet several times, which didn't work well, it seems that RefluxRaft improves upon a few things:- The consistency, which is thicker, and appears to form a more effective "raft" to prevent reflux- The ingredients, which include some antacids (e.g. sodium bicarb, calcium carb), alginate, some flavor components, and no added sugarA few areas of concern:- *The price* - it's understandable that making this product isn't cheap, but at $32-$36/bottle it adds up very quickly- Dosing - this ties into price/value, because the product is ineffective at the suggested dose of 1tsp; I require about 1tbsp, so the number of servings drops considerably- Ginger - I'm sure this varies from person to person, but as others have mentioned, the ginger flavoring can cause a bit of burn if your esophagus is sensitive or irritated; I'll typically take it with a gulp of water to avoid the burn

Didn't work and Couldn't get a refund
Unfortunately this product did not work for me and as the cost is pretty high for what it is I am pretty disappointed in it. This is one of the few times where they don't accept return on this item so I guess I'm out the $34.My symptoms were heartburn, stomach distress, likely gastritis or GERD. if these are your problems this may not be the right product for you.

Great product
This product is amazing and I have been able to access it because I had a family member living in the USA. Unfortunately for me that is no longer the case. It will be a huge loss for me as the difference in cost ordering on the Canadian side if indeed it was accessible on that side will be cost prohibitive

It’s great, and weirdly delicious BUT
I bought in a hurry to replace my Omeprazole , and realized that Liferaft has calcium carbonate in it, which a lot of folks with digestive issues need to limit due to the risk of hypercalcemia. My stupid pancreas — sorry, little guy — stopped making its own enzymes at some point, and one of the things I have to limit is calcium. So I can only take this twice a day, which is probably a good thing bc I’m in danger of eating it all up at once. It’s tasty, ya’ll.It also contains Licorice Root, which interacts with multiple medications— which is unfortunate because it works for tummy issues. It’s difficult to squeeze out of the tube thingy so I keep it upside down in a jar and scoop it out with a tiny spoon. Not arthritis friendly but ways to work around it.Finally, if I didn’t have to avoid Licorice Root, I’d use this much more. The calcium carbonate is necessary for the raft to form, I think, but the licorice root is just an extra for soothing the tum tum. LifeRaft should create a line of products without it, because it really does interact badly with many, many medications unfortunately. The other fancy reflux product on here (reflux gourmet?) looks amazing but contains grapefruit extract, which is an even more well known medication interaction risk, so over the two I’ll pick the licorice and calcium carbonate because I live dangerously. I’m looking at needing a pure alginate product with no bells and whistles. Will keep updating. Fun!PS It’s low in sodium and sugar too. … probably gonna have some right now!

Works, tastes terrible
I bought this as a potential alternative to Reflux Gourmet due to sugar in Reflux Gourmet. This one is sweetened with stevia which I prefer. But the taste is really bad. I am not generally put off by flavors but this is pretty bad. It also raised my blood sugar as much as the Reflux Gourmet which I don’t understand.

Great natural solution to heartburn!
Dr. Payne introduced my mom to this stuff, and I recently started using it, also. Used to sit in bed reading, and every night the heartburn would start. Now I take this, and never have that issue. Shared some with my DIL who has been suffering with heartburn since being pregnant with my grandson, and she loved it, also. Granted, the taste is a little off (though not terrible), and the slimy texture...ugh. But, I swallow it fast, chug some water, and I'm good. Hope this product is not ever discontinued. Works so much better than a bunch of antacids!!

Tastes BAD
I loved the idea of this product because it's "natural", and based on sodium alginate, which works very well for my reflux when I use liquid Gaviscon. I bought the lemon ginger flavor. I was put off immediately by the thick texture that reminded me of what comes out of my nose with a sinus infection - super yuck. But I gathered my courage and sucked down a spoonful. and was rewarded with the most horrendous taste. Literally, I imagined I had just scraped off the bottom of a murky pond and put it into my mouth. Also experienced a bout of gas soon after 🙃. Thankfully Amazon refunded my money because it's kind of pricey.

I think it's great
No sugar, natural organic ingredients, it tastes great {although I wouldn't care, it's medicine not candy}.....now I have LPR bc of lots, and lots.......and lots........of aspirin intake. I wouldn't have to if I could find a doctor who knows anything about headaches and migraines, but this is what it is. So I've finally developed, after a casual diagnosis by an ENT, LPR. And I don't appreciate being put on pharma meds. So this, aloe gel, and herbs are what I've got. I will say that this may have stopped working for me, after a month of use, BUT it may be it can't handle my aspirin intake, I don't know. But it DID work, and I'm keeping my subscription. If the label is correct as to ingredients, they did a great job.
