LDS CTR Ring - Elvish Choose The Right Ring - Narrow Band

The ring itself looks great from the outside. I really liked it. The size I ordered fits great, too. But....When I got it, I showed it to my husband, a huge Tolkien fan (we both love Lord of the Rings, but he's a bit of a fanatic). He inspected it and said he didn't think the writing was elvish. So, we decided to see if we could translate the writing to see if it actually said "choose the right." I was pulling for yes, he was decidedly no. When looking at both the Elvish language and then Welsh (which Tolkien based the Elvish language Saridin on), he was still dubious, and I was still hopeful. Our goddaughter then came over.She's determined...very determined.After about an hour with online research and a comparison of Tolkien's elfabet (you see what I did there?), she confirmed that my husband had won the argument. Not only did the ring not say "choose the right," it didn't say anything at all! It was just a jumbled mix of letters that were incoherent.., unless you're a demon speaking parceltongue. The husband then suggested that somehow, possibly, I've purchased the ONE ring, the CTR Ring that controls all the CTR rings in the universe. That's a bit far-fetched in my opinion, but part of me is intrigued by the idea...All in all, I like the ring. It's pretty and even though the writing might not be accurate (or maybe we just don't have access to the elvish version used), it's still a conversation starter that leads to discussions about the gospel. However, the script on the ring isn't accurate and that kind of makes me sad (mostly because I lost an argument with my husband, and I hate being wrong).

The ring is beautiful and well made, however it does not translate exactly from English to Elfish. It does not say Choose the Right exactly.
