Eccotemp EZ-Flush System Descaler Kit with Pump and Solution, Durable Tankless Water Heater Flushing Kit

I have hard water and I noticed that my tankless was taking longer and longer to detect the water flow so that it could kick on the flash heating element to provide hot water. After talking with the manufacturer they advised me that I had to perform routine descaling to keep the inside of the until free from calcium building, etc. I bought this unit as it was a middle of the road priced solution.Pros:- Easy to use- Comes with everything you needCons:- Not super expensive but definitely not cheapFor an all in one solution, I guess the price tag is not too bad. The unit itself is the bucket and pump. It comes with the inlet and outlet hoses and the first run of solution is included. The directions are very straight forward and easy to follow. The hoses could be a little longer as I had to build a make shift stand for the unit to sit on as it was a couple feet short of the ground. It is a little difficult to tell if it is actually moving fluid through the system as you don't see too much movement. I can tell though that it was working and after 45 minutes. You empty the unit and fill it with clean water and flush the system. The whole flush took an hour and I felt much better about the routine maintenance using this descaling unit. I was very impressed with this tidy little package and once it is all dried out you store the hoses and power cord inside the bucket. Close it up and put it away until next time. Very satisfied with the purchase.----------UPDATE----------So I brought this out again for my 6 month maintenance on my tankless system.The descaling kit worked just fine again. No issues what-so-ever. I even opened it up to see if there were any broken parts. Everything looked fine inside and out. I have read a number of reviews about issues with this item and am pleased that my did not follow suit. I am still fully satisfied with the purchase and have nothing but praise for this product. I have used it twice and it is easy to use, clean and store.

I changed my review. We’ve only used this three times. The pump has quit. I bought a new one. Now the bucket has started to leak and I’m now back to a 5 gallon bucket. Guess this was a bad purchase. I wouldn’t recommend it at all. It did look like an attractive purchase to begin with.note: I’ve tried contacting seller. No luck at all. Noticed others are having same issues. I’d really like a full replacement or better yet a full refund. So far nothing.

This Ecotemp EZ-Flush system works very well. It is extremely easy to use and quiet when operating. It doesn't use much power and takes about 30 minutes to flush your system. When you are done, you need to flush the decaying solution out of the system with water. I will be using this every 6 months to clean my tankless water heater. I am satisfied so far!

I really thought this was a nice unit. All in one, compact, and ready to go. It is - if you intend to use it one time! I bought it in July of 2017 and used it once. I flushed the unit and stored it in a climate controlled room. Today, I go to use it and heard something rattling. Surprised since I knew it didn't do that before, I opened the bottom and saw bits and pieces of plastic and screws. The entire pump has disintegrated! I'm glad I didn't just try and use it because it would have made a mess, and possibly had an electrical issue. Very disappointed in this as it only had a 1 year warranty, as if they knew it wouldn't last.EDIT - I have changed my review from 1 star to 4 based on the customer support of the company. They contacted me and sent me a new one for no charge. I am glad they stand behind their product, I just wish it had a longer lifespan. I don't know how to make it last longer, as I followed all flushing instructions and kept it in a climate controlled room, I just think the pastic gets brittle and disintegrates over time.

This product does not hold up over time. I used it once then rinsed it out and put it away. Went to use it today for the second time and it leaked all of the liquid out all over my floor as soon as I turned the pump on.

Purchased this in April 2019. It worked very well the first time I used it however when I went to use it again, the water was coming out of the bottom of the unit--leaking through the seams. Not very pleased considering the price and was only able to use it once

In theory, this is a pump that circulates water mixed with a calcification compound through a tankless water heater to decalcify it. In reality, this is a sprinkler.A system design to pump water has to be watertight. The manufacturer apparently overlooked this minor detail. The hoses that connect the pump to the water heater leak. A lot. Surprisingly, they don’t leak at the socket as one might expect from a shoddy product. This innovative design leaks at the fitting between the socket and the hose (i.e. the hose by itself isn’t water tight). To work, the system is supposed to run for 30-45 minutes. It makes it about two before the water level gets too low for it to operate.The decalcification solution probably works, judging by the skin irritation it caused while I cleaned up the mess.

Great product, easy to use .

I'm extremely disappointed in this product. I used it only once before the pump stopped working on it. I followed all of the storage instructions that they laid out including flushing the unit with clean water and storing it in a cool dry place.They only provide a one year warranty on the product which is rather convenient considering my hot water heater only needs to be flushed once a year. Make sure you plug it in before the first year elapses to see if yours still works as they won't even considering giving you a replacement unit otherwise.When I called them to see if they could help with the problem the only thing they suggested was replacing the whole unit at 15% off. Does anyone ever take them up on this offer? Why would I give you more money for something that is clearly a poor quality product?
