I placed one in the trail of ants. They swarmed it and within two hours all ants were gone. I am keeping it out for the time being to ensure they are all gone for good, but this worked incredibly well. I was truly shocked at how quickly this rid my home of ants.

I give the product 4 stars. 1 star for each trap included in the package. Odorous ants- very small and annoying always seem to find their way into my kitchen come Spring. Once the outside temperature reaches 50 degrees F and above, they come marching in from outside through the window sill. But once I set up & put out all 4 traps the marching ceased. I’m pretty sure they tapped into at least one of the traps I positioned as shown in the photo I have submitted. This leads me to believe the colony and queen are both gone. For good measure I will leave all 4 traps in place to be sure the pests are gone and don’t reappear. In the meantime my countertops and laminate floor will be kept crumb- free as they usually are. My only issue with the traps was with prying open the metal tabs at the base of each trap. I found them to be a little difficult to pop open at first but this is probable due to my own physical handicap: left hand paralysis. I will purchase these again next year if these ants return in Spring which my bet is they will but to their own demise!

Note that this review does not reflect the effectiveness of this product. If your home is free of children and pets it might possibly work for you. However, it's mentioned twice on this description page that it is safe for pets and children. Yet when actually receiving the package today I noticed a warning that bothered me enough to return it. In a clearly noticeable square at the back of the box it states, "Do not store where children or pets may gain access." Duh!So ORTHO, why are you confusing customers like myself? Your uncertainty on this matter has been a total waste of my time. No way am I taking a chance with the welfare of my children and pets. The last time I had an ant infestation problem I used a product manufactured by a company called ZEVO. I was more than satisfied with the results and it contains no harmful chemicals. Time to return using a product I can trust.

Been dealing with black ants inside our home in the wintertime. These worked great within a matter of a few days. Highly recommend over any of the expensive products. I especially like that they're made of tin, to prevent our cat from pushing these around or knocking them off for our dogs to get into. I use a little duct tape to secure them firmly while in use. Discard afterwards, no good to re-use for future use. I did however find them in sets of 10 for $5 v/s what they're selling here. 😬

Ants just passed by, they don’t stop and eat the bait!

I thought about adding a picture, but that disrespects the ants. I had ants coming into my office from who knows where. Upon seeing the mass of ants on my desk, I ordered these almost immediately. I placed these out at the end of my work day and by the next morning, poor ant bodies everywhere. I feel sad and ashamed to be happy to witness this. At the same time, I'm glad they're gone. I pulled out my vacuum and cleared it out in no time. None have come back.The openings were supposed to be pre-perforated but challenging to open. I had to use a screwdriver and poke them open. I considered deducting a star for this, but I am reviewing its efficacy. It was effective and easy to use outside of popping the openings open. I do wish they came with optional adhesive tabs. So, for these reasons, I deducted a star from 'ease of use.'

Worked great for us. It only takes a few hours and all of the ants disappeared, except for the dead ants. We put out the traps when the ants appear in spring, and as long as you replace the traps occasionally, the ants stay clear. And, since our dog can’t get into the trap, we can put them just about anywhere in the house safely. Awesome product!
