There are more expensive options out there, but this CAMVATE 11" magic arm is well made of metal, and holds firm when tightened. A very useful product for any film kit that is flexible and versatile, allowing mounting camera to field monitor, or microphones or small lights. Can also be used to hold other gear. Recommended. Have only used it a couple times though, so cant speak to longevity. I see nothing to indicate it will fail early as it is good quality.

Sturdy unit that appears well built. I like the large twist knob to tighten the arms. One complaint is that I didn't realize the red lever knob needs to tighten to also tighten the ball joints that attach to the hot shoe and monitor. One has to position the monitor where you wish and then tighten the red knob to hold everything in place. I almost sent this back. There are more simple mounts. Advantage here is the monitor can be positioned in an almost unlimited number of ways depending on the needs.

I am a huge skeptic. When I got this I was amazed. When you loosen the red wing nut, which is made from aluminum, it loosens the ball sockets on the end as well. If you loosen it more, then you can pivot the elbow which has teeth so it is an incremental adjustment. This has the 1/4" male threads at each end. I am a pilot so one end will go into my smallrig clamp, while the other will accept a camera/video/GoPro/... (Make sure you check the depth of the threads so it doesn't bottom out in your camera and crack the camera case. Otherwise, this is strong enough to support my Lumix G85. I have bought other arms with much lesser quality. This is an outstanding product!

Had this for a year and a half. Served me well. But now it's starting to slack and can't fully tighten. I give it 5 stars because it's made it's money's worth. Keep that in mind if you're buying this, it may start slacking in 1-2 years.

I purchased this to support my mirrorless camera as a webcam over my monitor. It is well constructed and holds the weight easily. I like how the main hinge clicks into positions and that the whole item is made of metal. I've seen many on Amazon with plastic parts and avoided them because of it. I have no fear of my camera falling.

This device works great... very solid. For the price it is an excellent deal... I've used one costing about 5x as much... and the results on this one are every bit as good. If you have a camera dolly with a 3/8 inch thread... there are adapters available... get one, detach the hotshoe attachment, and install the adapter... I did this for my camera dolly... worked fantastic.

It’s OKAY. if you’re NOT a serious filmmaker using heavily then this will be fine. But I noticed that after only a few times of taking this on and off monitors/cameras the rubber pieces are falling off completely and I find them withering away easily. I also constantly have to tighten them and to do it I have to lock the position and tighten like a wrench and then loosen again to get back to the position it needs to be. I also found that the rubber connectors get stuck on the camera and monitors when I go to take the arm off. so I’ll have to twist the entire arm to unscrew it from the connector in order to get it off.

La verdad es que esta muy bien hecho, tiene buenos materiales, es dolido. Lo adquirí para colocar un monitor externo a un estabilizador de mano ronin dji. Se enzambla fácilmente y tiene bastante articulación, cuando se ajusta queda bien rígido. Sin embargo cuando colocan la pantalla se volvía algo pesado, a la hora de grabar durante más de 5 minutos me empezaba a temblar el brazo (quizá se deba a la posición con la que se toma el ronin) es el único detalle que le encontré. En general es buena compra, sigo experimentando con sus funciones.

Almost as good as the $200 ones from Zacuto and Shape etc. . And I mean pretty damn close. Quality materials. You can really crank it down. Always works. Wouldn't be surprised if you you couldn't tell the difference!

Locks down pretty tight. Holds my 580exii with 13x8 inch softbox and flash extension cord windy days.

I use it for my boat sonar so it can me turn around, does what I expected.
