For the size it's a mean bit of kit.
Had my first go with it today. Being a complete novice at turning, I must say I am very pleased with this Lathe. On 1st attempt it really surprise me. It's worth every penny I spent, good quality small in size yes, but like they say it's how you use it. Easy to set up, only quibble I got had toRun a tap into the thread for the base to fit to, ( which it is recommended to use a base on it) but that was just done in 5 mins or less. Would I buy again a big yes for that. Well done Axminster. Ideal for the complete beginner with very little space.

Great Little Beginner Lathe!
I’ve fallen in love with turning! I’ve got lots to learn and this lathe is the perfect starter machine for that! Sturdy, easy to assemble, simple speed dial. Great product for the price. Well worth it, although be prepared to spend just as much (if not more) on tools and extra accessories!

Limited size of workpiece
Only good for turning smaller items. Blanks need to be less than 8 inches in diameter. Would like to see some examples and what chisels to use for different outcomes.
