Nice entry level reel. Super smooth for an inexpensive item. Liked the first enough to buy a second in a different size. Kids and landed a number of summer flounder on these and some 5 lb Bluefish and schoolie stripers all with no issues at all. Read some negative reviews and even some videos about damaging effects of saltwater which is very a true possibility. So when I received mine I went over a few areas with a light coating of reel grease BEFORE using in harsh salt environment and no visible rust or corrosion seen so far. 8 out of 10 times I rinse all of my reels with fresh water. I have some higher end gear that I love but not turning them over to kids yet until their a bit more seasoned. Tight lines

Why spend 200$ or 300$ on a reel when these reels are just as durable have just as good of drags and the line capacity matches plus you get a spare spool. Used these in fresh and saltwater with 0 issues and flawless performance. Going to be picking up a couple more sets for this year because the price can't be beat.

I ordered this up for a new 5'6" ultralight rod I purchased. It's not a fancy rod and since it is ultralight, I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a reel. For the money, this is a decent reel. I got it to target small pan fish like bluegill but occasionally hook into decent size bass so I loaded it up with 6 lb braid and run 4 lb leader. The quality was better than i expected for the price. It its very smooth and casts well, too. My only complaint is that it is heavy. Really heavy. I ordered a 1000 size and it feels about the same as my 3500 size Pflueger Supreme XT's. The weight made the reel/rod combo feel very unbalanced in my hands. Enough that I returned it. It would probably be a great option for light action 6' or 6'6" rod, just too heavy for my set up.

I bought one of these about 10 years ago, to replace a Pflueger reel. It's super light, unbelievably smooth, and great for crappie fishing. I have 10 spinning rods and they all have these reels on them.

Great reel so far? Taken it on the boat a few times now and it’s withheld. Quality is 10/10. Looks so sick. And it’s SO smooth. If you’re thinking about pulling the trigger just do it. You WONT be disappointed.

great for 3 years bought 2 in fact. then the screw holding the bail and ball bearings in place shot everywhere, mostly out of the boat into the lake. The other one did the exact same thing the next day. These reels are really smooth and would like to find parts to fix the ones I have. just not sure where to look. 5 stars before these bail springs came off and 0 stars after.

This is a really nice reel. It feels smooth, has a relatively smooth drag, and it looks and feels very well made. And despite all this, the cost was quite low. I've spent far more on reels, but I don't know that I've ever received this kind of value for the money spent. I bought the XY1000 reel. I paired it with a 6' 6" ultralight rod, intending to use it for crappies. It works great for that and balances well. As you can see in the picture, an occasional bass joins the party! And the reel's drag was up to the challenge for bigger fish like this on 4 lb line. The size of the reel is good for this application... I like to "feather" the line with my index finger during the cast, and this reel's size makes that convenient. As a side note, I REALLY like the hexagon cutout pattern on the side of the spool. I want my reels to function great and care less about the looks, but it's fun to have one that works great and looks cool, too. Overall I'm very happy with this purchase. For the ratings below... Light weight: It balances well on my rod so the weight is good for me. Value is off the charts and I'd give that 6 stars if I could. Durability: So far so good. I've caught many fish on this reel over ~3 months and it's been perfect so far.

This is my first review after purchasing three different Sougayilang reels over the last several years. I was so happy with the first two reels, that I went the same route when needing to replace a Diawa that kept giving me problems. These reels are much higher quality than you would expect for the price, so don’t be swayed. They are smooth casting, durable, and good looking. If I were to do it over again, I likely would have gotten the 1000 size over the 2000 size because it may be more reel than I need for my lake. I will feel confident this reel will bring in any walleye or large mouth from my particular lake. I also like the extra spool so I can have the choice of two different line weights or types. The spool that comes on the reel feels metallic and the second spool feels composite in construction. Don’t be shy, even if you are on the fence about a foreign reel from Amazon, the investment is low and it is worth taking a chance. This may be your “go to” company and reel for the next several years. I highly recommend it.

Die Angelspule ist so gut verarbeitet läuft schon leicht und holt dich nur super auf. Der Kauf hat sich sehr gelohnt und ich würde sie eben weiter empfehlen.

I purchased this item for my best friend who just started out in his newly loved hobby. I purchased the XY1000 and he is just loving it. The weight is just right for the size of the fishing reel. It is also beautifully designed and colored. It is very easy to use and it gave him better chances of catching a fish. The item is the same as in the description box and the image is almost identical to the fishing reel that will be delivered to your door. I am happy that my best friend is happy. Devo dire che funziona molto bene e pertanto niente da aggiungere, preciso, gira che sembra immerso nell'olio, frizione ok....consigliatissimo anche per il suo costo.
