The book content looks great but the hard copy printing is cheap black and white printing. The examples in the book refer to colors in the images, so it's pretty disappointing. Buy the digital copy instead. -2 stars for the quality of the hard copy.

but once the examples do not work which rendered the book useless for me
Bought this book hoping to brush up on RxSwift, but once the examples do not work which rendered the book useless for me. The newer version based on Xcode 9 and swift 4 was not available at the time, so it doesn’t function whatsoever on Xcode 9. I wish I could return it or trade it in for the new one :( now it’s just sitting on a shelf useless!

Great followthrough.
Great book like always. The specialty in Ray Wenderlich's books are the step by step chapters that lead to the mastery of the main idea. Their books are different from those on the market because they try to teach the content in a structured way instead of scattering it. To be completely transparent, if you are a beginner at RxSwift, you may have to look up a lot of the concepts and methods that are used. The book does its best to provide an extremely detailed explanation and it does a great job. I look forward to seeing the new debugging book come onto Amazon.

Very, very good book. Suits great for beginners and experienced RxSwift users. Lot of real world examples of operators usage and architecture which can be used in the real app. Every chapter written as a tutorial. Written by developers to developers. Great job 👏 👍

Great tutorial on RxSwift
This book is an excellent tutorial on RxSwift. I was new on Rx and able to grasp the concept and application of it. I plan to master the content of this book before I will write apps using the RxSwift. If you're serious about learning RxSwift, I would also recommend the Udemy RxSwift by Scott Garner (one of the authors of this book). This book and the Udemy video complement each other. While the book is much more comprehensive, the video helps in solidify the fundamentals.

RxSwift is the latest new trend in iOS development. A good app usually means good asynchronous programming and a responsive UI. This is exactly what RxSwift is aim for.I was new to Rx and this book helps me a lot with asynchronous programming, not only it will help you but it will make your code more readable and easier to understand. You can download the book examples and follow them in Xcode at your own paste, very convenientGood asset to have in your libraryAlex.
