So far, so good....
These are holding up two 8' x 2' shelves, so moderately heavy duty, in the garage. And I'd call the brackets "moderately heavy duty". I'm not sure I'd want to sit on the shelf, but I probably could. It won't be holding hundreds of pounds, just dozens. The other, probably somewhat more heavy duty brackets I found on Amazon were a lot more expensive (and Lowes and Home Depot had nothing this big), so I took a chance. Reviews were pretty good.I've seen totally opposite statements about the brace being welded. On the ones I got, the brace fits into a slot, about 3/4 inch long, and is spot welded at one end. Just a little weld, not the whole length of the slot (see picture). The weight of the shelf will work to hold the slot in place - the weld doesn't have to do anything more than just keep it together before installation. The painted, brown finish is good enough. These aren't 'decorator' brackets. They're not 'warehouse industrial', either. Plenty good for my garage.BTW, I don't do 5-star reviews unless something knocks my socks off. "As expected" can be very good, but it's still four stars. One note: Amazon suggested zinc lag bolts from Hillman. Cheap - ~$15 your a box of 100. I got them, and they're too soft. Two of them sheared off at the top of the threads with just light/moderate torque. Heading to Lowes for better (and much more expensive) bolts.

Look at bracket holes before drilling
So I grabbed the first bracket in the box and made my marks for all 10 brackets. Sweet, I thought! The 2 holes at the top of the wall are not on the midline, but the laser level split the middle. I drilled for 4 of the brackets. So far so good. Something told me I should check the remaining brackets. I'm SO glad I did before drilling the rest of the holes in the wall. I didn't realize that NOT ALL OF THE BRACKETS ARE THE SAME! As you can see in the pic, there are 2 different orientations of the top holes! Not only that, they gave me 4 of one, 6 of the other. I'm so glad I had checked before drilling all holes! I question if they were all 90 degrees, but they worked fine for my application. No screws or anchors included.

Poor Reviews I wish to counter here; this rates A++
I was concerned after reading reviews about the holes, being bent, cheap w/no weight capacity, bad finish, et al.At least one review stated he hung his 230# from ONE, so I bought.Actually this was a re-shopping experience since my slotted angle irons were cancelled, throwing my project days behind with an imminent deadline and there are slim pickings in finding weight capacities from the competition on line (idiot marketings?).Using SS Philips heads into smallish pilot holes into 2x4 wood studsthese mounted easily, flawlessly and can hold up the moon, even on surface of 1/2" sheetrock, thus I have no doubts the stated weight capacity, coupled with 230# report are true enough, if screws are 1" into studs.Although not packed against damage from each other, all arrived in perfect shape but I refuse to use a magnifying glass when white paint is cheap and easy to get via Prime, which I did not require. Not only was there nothing wrong with this product, it buries the competition on all counts, except possibly one ... my only sole gripe follows:Delivery delayWhen told Friday ETA on Prime membership coststhen later revealed Saturday when too late to cancel & substituteI felt like I have dealt with someone slimeyand wondered what a pig in a poke might arrive to further frustrate a project on a medical deadline.I promise to forgive, forget now that I have "too many" excellent brackets for future projects ... I really only needed TWO!

NOT welded, but still works.
Read some concern if the brackets are welded. They are not. They are crimped into place. If you want a shelf to hold your car, look elsewhere. If you want a shelf to hold general storage / christmas / winter clothes, these work fine. I sank these brackets into wall studs and they were more than able to hold my 200lb human form grabbing and hanging on them. Put some boards across the top, throw your stuff up there, move on.

Awesome
I was skeptical after reading some reviews but all are welded and all are square. Very nice strong brackets. I have paid over double for comparible ones at HD. Funny to get excited about shelf brackets. I better get out more.

I had a vision in my head of what I wanted them to look like, and these brackets were exactly what I was ...
I needed to put up some shelves in my apartment to hold my books and other semi heavy things. I had a vision in my head of what I wanted them to look like, and these brackets were exactly what I was looking for. They are strong and industrial while also being aesthetically pleasing. I decided to make my shelves out of 1/2" baltic birch cabinet grade plywood. I cut the shelves 11" deep on a table saw and cut them to the length of the opening on my wall. When mounting the brackets I used drywall anchors. I am so happy with how the shelves turned out. They are so sturdy. I never write reviews for anything, but I am just so happy with how they turned out that I couldn't help myself. Buy these brackets!

Great quality/price ratio
These are great no nonsense brackets. They are sturdy and seem to be a very good value for the price point. I used them for some plain bookshelves - using three brackets for a 5-foot board and they are quite stable.

poor quality rough edges
Some brackets of this sort use rolled bar with smooth edges for the diagonal brace. On these, the brace is punched. For the ones I received the punching dies were either worn out or badly made to start with, leaving significant burrs. Also the paint job was mediocre. While these did cost a bit less than the better quality brackets I have seen, the reduction in quality was far greater than the reduction is price, so I consider these a poor deal. Maybe ok for a garage but I wanted to use then in my sewing room , and even for a garage they weren't really all that much less expensive than better quality.

Solid brackets
Product as advertised. Reading previous comments about crooked brackets had me concerned. Ordered two boxes (20) brackets. One had a slight bend. The other brackets were good.

Heavy Duty Indeed
Plain enameled steel at a fair price for 10. Used six for an office wall with screws into ¾ inch cedar boards. Two more were used for dual commercial shelves installed half a dozen years ago. The not inexpensive shelves turned out to chip board with veneer on all six sides. Heavy books caused the boards to droop at ends. Particle board has no inherent strength and should never be used for shelving. Used a car jack to level each end with brackets in place, using heavy screws. The heavy duty shelf brackets took the load elegantly.

Good value
Exactly as described. Good for supporting a 10” or 12” shelf. The brackets were reasonably square and easy to install. Good value.

Description of the product is accurate
Ordered 2 boxes for my wife. The quality of the product is the same as other brands purchased in store. There were no defective brackets, like other purchasers mentioned. These brackets were the best price on Amazon at the time of purchase. We are happy that they did the job and we saved some money!
