pleasant surprise! lightweight, well-constructed &follow-up
I was searching for a pair of rollerski gloves and stumbled on this one from Barnett- a manufacturer I'd never heard of, who seems to specialize in protective gear for American sports- and was very pleasantly surprised! These are definitely made expressly for rollerskiing; synthetic leather reinforcement is extensive and is of precisely the same material in my regular rollerski gloves from Jenex. The fabric on this glove is lighter weight than the Jenex and is more comfortable in warm weather. Craftsmanship seems to be good as well. I've skiied only maybe 40 miles in these so far so I can't speak to length of wear. I also have not yet crashed in them, so I can't say how rugged they are. I expect they are excellent warm weather gloves that one wears if one is more concerned about comfort and sweaty hands, and less concerned about skin protection in crashes. I've just ordered a second back-up pair of these for the summer. I see they also make their own rollerskis, and am very curious about those. I'll definitely be checking Barnett products out in the future when I shop for xc skiing and rollerski gear.FOLLOW-UP several months later....It turns out they are not such long-wearing gloves; some holes began to appear after about 160-170 miles of skiing, and after 250 they needed some significant sewing repair to keep them going. But they are nice, comfortable, light gloves, and if you don't mind this life span or doing some repairs, they are a good deal! i've just ordered a few more pairs.follow-up to follow-up- Barnett has improved the design- they seem a bit more durable, more padded in the palm. They also now seem to ship to US customers from within the US, and the gloves are arriving faster. Outstanding, quick, responsive customer service. Even with a limited lifespan, these have become my go-to rollerski gloves in warm weather.

Fazit: Finger weg!
