This was easy to set up on my Windows system and so far it works flawlessly. It’s a great back up for my laptop’s onboard fingerprint scanner for when my machine is docked and closed. Just a quick touch of my finger and I’ve got my system unlocked and ready to go. Makes the workday just a little smoother.

I recently purchased the USB Fingerprint Reader Mini Fingerprint Scanner for my laptop, and I have to say it's been a game-changer for my daily login routine. Setting it up was a breeze—just plug it into the USB port, and you’re good to go! It quickly and accurately reads my fingerprint every time, making logging into my computer super convenient. I love that it enhances security, so I feel more protected against unauthorized access. The device is also incredibly portable, fitting easily into my laptop bag. While it's great for logging into Windows 10/11, I found it a bit finicky with some third-party software. Overall, considering its affordability and the security it provides, I think it’s a fantastic addition to my tech arsenal.

I was wrong about this device. Purchased in Sep '23, they have stopped working. As stated below, I use two of these units, one of which is on a 4-port KVM switch, the other straight to a PC. Both units stopped working the same day. I have looked into fingerprint issues on the transducer screen (just take a look at your cell phone screen). I cleaned gently with lint-free cloth, etc., etc. A product lifetime of six months it not acceptable. On the KVM, all 4-PC's stopped responding, so it is not Windows Hello, or Windows at all. Re-programming the finger does not improve anything at all. C3 (Cheap C-h-i-n-a Crud).Previously:Installation was simple: plug into a USB port, wait a moment, restart the (Windows) PC. Device Manager shows (Biometric devices): FocalTech Fingerprint reader (at least for my two units). The device responds quickly. On occasion I don't touch it just right, but another quick touch gets me in. It's easier and much faster than typing a password. And the PW is safe from prying eyes. Those are the reasons I purchased this unit.I inserted one sensor into a 4-port IOGEAR KVM (DVI) switch. A single Fingerprint Sensor will unlock each of the 4-PC's as I switch between them.I learned that Windows Hello does not require a Microsoft account.After a couple of weeks of daily use, I can highly recommend this unit.

So far so good. I was able to get the USB fingerprint reader up and running without too many issues. One thing that was kind of annoying is that the USB port on my Lenovo IdeaCentre faces downwards do the fingerprint reader is also facing downwards. I suppose one benefit is there won't be any dust on the reader in the future. I'm really pleased to be able to use the Windows Hello fingerprint function now.

So easy to use! I have to change my password often at work and remembering new passwords is rough. The set up was extremely easy and now I can log in to the computer and other programs easily. It also allows multiple fingerprints to be saved so it's easy for a shared computer also.

I had no issues setting it up. It feels well built and I feel it's at a good value. It reads my prints quickly and accurately. For some reason though, it won't load the drivers correctly for all the USB ports. It connects fine to many different hubs but only half of my ports directly.

Works! Works a whole lot better than another brand I have. Recognizes fingerprint immediately and reliably.

This USB fingerprint reader has saved me so much time! It lets me skip entering my password when filling in login spaces, especially during job searches. I used to hate repeatedly typing the same password in Google Chrome, but now with just a touch, I can access everything faster. It’s a simple, efficient tool that makes web browsing much more convenient.
