Rio Euro Nymph Leader, 11', 0X/2X, Pink/Yellow - 2 Pack

I set up my Orvis/TFO euro style using the Rio Nymph 20' add-on line and this leader. Used it as directed. I could see the color indicator bright as day even into the evening. Tell you what I knew I had a fish the very moment. 13" pike minnow prolly about 2 or 3 lbs. I haven't caught trout yet. But, Northern Cali has a lot of places to go. Even off the highways. Btdub I beleieve its a 2mm tippet ring.update: 2/8/23= Yup I still have it. Tough as nails. Strong as when I first got it. It even got roughed up. No problem switching over to my new Euronymphing Setup...Maxcatch 11' 3wt v-nymph very light rod with a Reddington Tilt. Perfect balance. Tilt from Ebay came with Rio Specialty Series Euro Nymph micro line (Freshwater) =>2-5wt FIPS 80ft Orange tip down to sage/olive and 100 yds 20 lb Rio bright orange backing.setup 2 = 10ft 1910 split bamboo cane rod with nickel silver ferrules and reel seat trimmed with red agate guides. I also bought an extra TILT spool for my Pheonix Silk fly line DT3 with 35lb purple backing. 8ft Spanish silkworm gut leader down to 3x/2x. Then tied to 3x -> 7x tippet depending on what Im fishing fer. This setup is excellent for roll casting out to 50 ft! Easily for a light presentation. I use a yarn indicator.Or, a dry dropper setup. The American River is has a lot of fast areas so I do ehhh 1.5 times the depth of tippet usually 4ft to 6ft.Nymphing tippet 4ft tight raised pole, indicator line just above the water about 4"- 6". I tell you. I feel every tick no matter the setup. Or, be it the 11ft 3wt Carbon or the 10ft 3wt-5wt bamboo.

Good, strong leader with well-tied sections and tippet ring. The knots in the leader are low-profile and slip through my rod guides when fish run. I also like how the butt section of the leader is opaque white because it makes it easy to spot amidst a woodsy background.I've only used this a half dozen times so that's why it gets 4 stars. This is a great alternative to building your own Czech leader from materials.

These leaders work great. They are already made up and with the correct lengths. I use it on my 10' 7wt. It lays down pretty good, cast well with a roll cast. Goes through the guides well.

Great euro tippet can definitely tell what depth your at. Great deal for a 2 pack

I was practicing Euro Nymphing for the past 4 seasons and caugth hundreds of trouts. The rig I use is very simple. An Airflo Euro Nymph Line attached to a "Furled Euro Indicator" with tippet ring plus 5 to 6 feet of 4X tippet. I thought that by buying this leader I was going to have better strike detection. It proved to be wrong. First of all, if you attach the leader to an Euro Line, the loop of the leader will stay inside the tip of the rod and it could tangle with the guides when you have a large fish running away and taking line. Therefore, I had to trim several feet of the butt of the leader to solve this problem. The 2X sighter it is less visible than the Furled Euro Indicator in all weather conditions. The sighther also decolorates after a some hours of fishing. For this reason the strike detection was equal or even worst than with my previous rig. The construction of these leaders was not consistent as I receive a pair of leaders with 2mm Tippet Rigs and another pack with 3mm rings. I stopped using this leader. I would rather suggest to by a spool of bi-color sighter material and make your own leaders that fit your fishing style.
