A simple way to get remote control of the HVAC
We have a single zone Mitsubishi mini-split heat pump at a cabin. We already had WiFi with internet access but the hand held controller on-site was the only way to change the cabin temperature. This interface plus the application loaded on a smart phone has given us the ability to check the current indoor temp and change the temp setting remotely. It isn't a big issue in the summer, but in the winter it will be much nicer turning the heat up in advance and arriving at the cabin with the temperature already up to something comfortable. In the past it was a matter of arriving, turning up the temp and starting a fire in the wood stove while we shiver for a couple hours until it warmed up.It was fairly easy to install, the instructions that came with the interface plus the connection information in the HVAC file made it pretty clear how to install it. The hardest part was figuring out how to remove the indoor unit cover to access the connection point. (Two screws along the bottom edge hidden by snap in plastic covers.) The interface is a little expensive, but we feel it's worth the cost.

Overall installation was very easy but not straight forward
First off, the location of my unit is above a staircase. The access panel where the CN105 port is located is on they right side making it the tallest point of the unit to reach. I had to get very creative just to locate and reach the port given they height/location challenges. That aside (which contributed to the length of my installation), this is very easy for anyone who's comfortable removing the cover and panels necessary to access the circuit board. I found a few Mitsubishi videos that demonstrated the basic things I needed to do in order to get to the right spot. The biggest "almost hurdle" I ran into was adding the device to the app. I found a Mitsubishi video that walked through the addition of a device since it wasn't apparent how that worked in the app. Adding a device required a technician PIN...I was like huh? Thankfully someone in the Q&A here said you could use 9999 or 0000. That was the only thing I thought was going to be a showstopper. The app is "ok" - it is very slow to change settings across the Internet (at least 30 seconds). That could be my Internet but I doubt it. Overall, it works just fine and is exactly what I needed. I wish the unit cost a bit less but it did the trick.

Great addition to my Mitsubishi Mini-split
Awesome addition to my Mitsubishi mini-split system. When thinking about ordering this, make sure you pull the most current list of compatible systems. My system was not listed as compatible on the early 2017 list, but a control board change in late 2017 made my unit compatible with the device. All your unit needs is the CN105 connector on the secondary control board. My unit is the MSZ-HM12NA-U1, and was installed in January of 2018.Installation was easy, just plug it in and extend the wire to where you want the module to sit. I routed mine through the wall, and have it hidden in the drop ceiling. Configuring it was easy with the Kumo Cloud app. System has been flawless in the 60 days since I installed it. If you have basic mechanical/electrical skills, up you can install this and get it operating correctly in a short period of time. The comments below about the control and Kumo app needing WPS are no longer valid. Both have been updated and work better than was the norm with previous versions. The control will connect with the basic wifi info you would need to set up any other wireless product; the SSID and password. I lock my SSID down with MAC access control and a hidden SSID, and I had no problem getting it connected.

Major design flaw making it incompatible with dual band routers / hotspots
If you have a dual band router or hotspot, you need to use different SSIDs or disable 5G. Otherwise, you will experience connectivity issues. This design flaw also applies to the newer version PACUSWHS002WF2

Works, but very basic features
This cool little addon to my Mitsubishi Mini-split works, but has a lot of problems. One problem is you can't adjust the direction of the vanes or the fan speed using the app or any of the home assistant integrations (Alexa/etc.) You can set the temperature, but you can't tell it to turn off, or switch modes to Dry mode or Heat. You basically can't do most things with it that you'd be able to do with the remote control. Also, when you set the temperature via Alexa, it doesn't update the temperature on the physical remote control unit, and vice versa. This leads to confusing readings. All in all, this is a half baked product. The iPhone app isn't good and needs to be updated to modern iOS standards. It's overall a pretty sloppy product.Installation was a nightmare and took about 3 hours, even after watching a great YouTube video that made it look way easier than it really is. Getting the cover off of my unit required nearly Herculean strength, and I had to use a power drill to make a hole through the plastic so I could route the cable from this unit into the place where it gets plugged in. It felt like I was going to rip the air handler unit off the wall when I was trying to open it, and only when I REALLY stressed the chassis did it finally pop open. Also, the unit has extremely obnoxious, overly bright LEDs that constantly flash. I had to tape them over with several layers of duck tape so they wouldn't disturb me while sleeping, since they were blinking right in my eyes at night. If you're looking for a more convenient way to control your modern, efficient Mitsubishi mini-split, this isn't it. Just use the remote control.

While the Interface was easy to install
While the Interface was easy to install. The Kumo App it works with is not stable. It displays an error message of Dirty Filter that cannot be reset despite resetting the interface and reloading the App.The temperature programming is unstable. The air condition will not respond to the program temperature at times.
