Keeps hot iron from scorching the ironing surface. Hangs up when not in use. Very happy with my purchase.

Handy and safe.
When sewing, I frequently stop to iron seams. This is a good iron-rest that I have next to my sewing machine which does not take up much space.

Very thin
It seems to do the job but compared to another one I have it is very thin. I would not trust it with a hot iron to protect the underlying surface.

I really didn't think this was gonna work. I was wrong, this is perfect. I deliberately left my iron flat on it for much too long. No burning iron or board. It hangs for storage, so it's out of the way till you need it. Absolutely can recommend.

NOW MY IRON WONT FALL OVER IF BUMPED
For less than $4 you can't go wrong. Hubby bought a new iron, cat hit the cord & knocked it over. I went straight to Amazon & found this...I put it in his stocking. Hubby was thrilled.
