Easy replacement, same quality as original
I have some Gopherhawks that are a few years old and have caught their fair share of gophers and a mole or two. The original straps were still intact, but were pretty bent out of shape after lots of use (I've manually reshaped them several times too). Figured it was just time for a refresh. Haven't had a chance to use them yet, but they seem to operate the exact same as before. Comes with instructions and are easy to replace (just 3 screws). Be sure to keep the 3 screws you remove as they don't include new screws with the replacement straps. Note: I took the advice of another reviewer and used a flat head screwdriver instead of a phillips, to keep from stripping the screw head.

The replacements made a difference.
Like the title says, I'm really glad I made this purchase. I bent the original straps pretty early on, and even though it was only a slight bend, replacing them really made a difference. Before I was mocked every time I set the trap, now I'm asked to set the trap. This product comes with a slightly steep learning curve. By the time I got good at placing the trap, the straps had bent. I thought I had fixed it and just had gophers with a Caddyshack level of intelligence, but I started trapping gophers no problem once I replaced the straps. I even caught a gopher the night I set the trap with the new straps! In the year that I kept the original bent straps I set the trap probably 20 times and I caught one mole (and I think it was by accident...caught him by the arm and had to kill him myself). Three months after replacing the straps I've caught 3 gophers, all dead in the trap. Replacing the straps was really easy after watching the video, and I'm really glad I did. Next time I see a bend, I'm placing it right away...though now that I'm pretty good at setting the trap, I hopefully won't have to.

Makes Fixing Gopher Hawk Pretty Easy
I've been using Gopher Hawks for a few years and like any traps, they are hit and miss... but a whole lot less expensive than hiring a professional -- and I learned the expensive way that the pros can be more miss than hit! The Gopher Hawk traps are pretty easy to set (unlike the traditional snap traps) and they do work pretty often. Can be a bit uncomfortable to have to dispose of the dead critters, but at least they are pretty much dead, once trapped. I do wish that the straps didn't get bent quite so easily and often - and/or that they were easier to move back into shape ... but since they do and are not, these replacement straps are not too costly (much less than purchasing whole new traps) and are very easy to install.

Get these as essential spares
Eventually you will need to replace these on your mole trap. Easy to install and they do the job.

Be careful removing the screws
This is an OEM replacement so it fits like it should. The straps will eventually break from metal fatigue, so you need these replacements to keep your trap working. The most important thing is to clean out the screw heads on your old screws before trying to remove them, since the straps do not come with new screws. I wish they did. The screws they use have combination Philips and slot heads. Clean out the head with a small pick and then use the slot to remove the screws. Using the philips part to remove them is asking for the head to get stripped. The screws are just screwed into plastic, so be careful not to over tighten and strip the screw hole. The replacement straps and the traps themselves are expensive, but they are the only traps that work. I have been getting about 100 gophers per year with these. I'm at 47 in the first 54 days of 2024.

New straps
Replacing the old straps with the new was easy. And after the straps were installed, I tested the trap and it seems to be working as it should. However, the one mole I'm trying to get has avoided the trap for the last 3 days, and he is still making mole mounds near very near the trap!
