Good 4 channel affordable amp./ Update: junk!
This Blaupunkt amp has wattage ratings far beyond it's actual output capabilities. Most amplifier Dyno videos document this. How much amplifier do you actually need and whatever you buy, it has to fit within your budget. This amplifier has build quality above and beyond Pyle and pyramid build quality and is pretty clean free of alternator whine and ground loop issues. It has most features anyone needs and is designed to be a high/full range amplifier. I don't think it would do subwoofers very well, but that's what mono block amplifiers are for. If your on a tight budget and want a quality amplifier for full range sound and don't require sound levels that will make your ears bleed, then this isn't nearly as bad of a deal as the amplifier Dyno guys say it is. No you can't connect welding leads to the speaker terminals and weld with it. But for the price point it does pretty well, depending on ones expectations. If your operating on a pyramid cash flow and need a good 4 channel amplifier for full range sound. Then step up to this and get a much cleaner and clear sound (not wide open volume), LoL. It will give you better than double the power obtainable from a quality 4 channel high powered head unit cleanly. I wish amplifier manufacturer's would rate wattage ratings more inline with the products capabilities, but this is an age old problem for decades, so don't be surprised when an amp won't come remotely close to it's wattage ratings. I guess if they rated it correctly no one would buy it in hope for a super product for very little money. Too good to be true; it usually isn't. In this case the amp isn't cheap shoddy build quality. Yes they could have added higher value capacitors, but it has enough to be clean sounding. The amplifier manufacturer's are not going to build a super superior product for all but nothing as they have to operate on price point as well. To me ask yourself how much amp and what you want to do with it to determine if this product is for you and within a given budget. If you want to power subs, then mono block amplifiers are the way to go. Hopefully I have cleared the air of controversy concerning this product. I'm happy with it and the price point as well. 73 Earnest K5EWM 👍. It's a keeper.

Legendary.
I tested this using an oscilloscope, rock concert sound pressure, maybe even competition level, powering only my front speakers, absolutely no distortion at extremely high sound pressure/decibels, I am a certified electronics technician, fell in love with this amplifier, I'm also a metal head and an audiophile who loves metal core playing guitar and electronic dance music genres of many types, and I have to say it's reliable, efficient, effective, and loud enough that after getting permission from a local gas station in an area I made sure no local housing is located it was loud enough without distortion to crank the volume close to maximum with no distortion and I could hear the music across the street while standing on the sidewalk which is pretty far from my car, and that was running two 150 watt rms speakers, I plan on bridging and setting it up with 300 watt RMS speakers for holiday events and for events with friends because the sound is already extremely loud and the amplifier can actually go further powering 2 speakers, and so I'm recommending this literally to anyone wanting an extremely high quality amplifier because this amplifier is excellent, it's exactly what someone wants if they are looking to have some loud sound to enjoy with everyone. Extremely recommend, 5 stars I would give 10. I'm in love with this amplifier.

Got way more than I expected
This is better than a budget amplifier and for what they’re asking for it you get way cleaner sound than I thought I would. Looking for a decent four channel amp that sounds clean for this price. They’re hard to find by this one you won’t regret it just make sure you’re matching the RMS rating on your speakers with the RMS on this amp and you’ll be just fine, I’m running to 6 1/2 inch two-way speakers and 28 inch subs and it’s perfect. If you push it hard, the amp will get hot, but mine hasn’t shut off yet. It’s never a good idea to bury your amp under a seat or in a tight space where it doesn’t have proper ventilation, no matter which one you buy.

Second times the charm!
**Updated: 21 AUG 2025** So my better judgment won and I ended up returning my original first amp order due to the issue I covered in my original review (as seen below this update). First props goes out to Amazon for having a streamlined process for returning items for someone who next to never returns items. Very easy to figure out. Second props goes out to the seller for giving a no-hassle exchange. Very much appreciated! One thing I failed to mention in my original review was that the first amp was delivered in just a regular plastic shipping bag with the amp box inside, of course. Now that might not have been an issue with shipping, provided the amp manufacturer (in this case, Blaupunkt) had the amp surrounded by shock absorbing packaging. But no, the amp just sits in an empty cardboard box - in a clear plastic bag, wrapped in cardboard that sits inside the actual cardboard amp box. Given that, the amp itself - even though it's wrapped in a single piece of cardboard - the amp can still move from side to side within the outer amp box. That right there is a recipe for disaster. So I place no fault on the seller for this because as far as I know, they were probably like me and just assumed the manufacturer took the appropriate steps by placing the amp in some form of foam or other shock absorbing material. All that being said, that fact alone could have very well been what caused the amp to malfunction on that one channel during its time in the hands of the shipping company. Thankfully, the seller sent my new replacement in a separate box that had shock absorbing material. Thank you very much! It all worked out in the end as my replacement amp works beautifully, and I am so happy that I exchanged the faulty amp for a fully functional 4 channel amp. It sounds way better having the same output on all speakers this amp powers. Thus, my 3 star rating has improved to a solid 5 star. Woot-woooot! Given that my first experience with this brand of amp started a little iffy and had me questioning my decision making skills, I am super happy with it and I invite everyone who is interested in a high power 4 channel amp to give this a try. Whether you have the same experience or get lucky on the first attempt, you will be glad you did. Happy listening! **Original review below** I was so excited to get this amp for my front component Alpine Type R's and rear coaxial speakers. So much so that I spent a total of 12 hours installing the amp kit, speaker wires, RCA's, and all the good stuff associated with an amp install. Once I had all the wiring done, I moved on to figuring out where to mount this. In the end, and after lots of head scratching, I decided to mount it on my rear hatchback driver side wall. It was a bit tricky, but I now have what looks like a floating amp, and it looks sick! After the amp install, it was time for the awesome part of hooking up all the wires to the amp terminals. Badda-bing-badda-boom, piece of cake. Okay, that was the second most awesome part. The number one awesome part was the test and tune stage. Only, it wasn't so awesome after all. And this is where I feel that I got punkt. During my testing phase, I heard what sounded like blown speakers coming from my front right components. This can't be. I have been using all my current speakers running off my aftermarket head unit for a decade with zero problems. So off to the races I went with trying to diagnose the issue. All of my speaker wire connections are soldered, and all other cables are secured in non-pinch areas as well as having speaker/rca wires running down one side of the car and the power wire from the battery on the other side of the car. So there is no interference on that front. I swapped each and every speaker wire, and even went as far as testing both sets of RCA cables one end at a time, only to discover that one channel is bad on the amp. I know its the amp channel because no matter what speaker I connect to that terminal, including testing each individual RCA plug, the distortion is present. Total and utter bummer after all the planning and preparation to get this up and running. Now, if I were a novice at doing this, I wouldn't feel confident in my diagnosis. But being that I spent 12 years of my life in a professional setting installing and testing car audio applications on top of being a DIY'er in the car audio field for the past 29 years, I am very confident in my diagnosis that I was sent a defective unit. Which happens, but sucks because I really wanted this to work out for my system the first time. Another odd thing about this amp is that no matter if I have the selector switch set to 2 channel or 4 channel, I get sound out of every speaker. It is beyond strange that that occurs. I tested the full and hpf settings and the distortion seems to be more pronounced on full, and not so noticeable on hpf, but it's still present. So currently, I have my fronts on full and rears on hpf. Being that it is a 4 channel amp, I decided to wire the rear speakers to the 2 channels that has the bad channel since those are primarily for ambient sounds (which I always have the fader set more to the fronts) so that the distortion isn't very noticeable in this application. I'm currently debating on whether or not to just leave it as is considering that my road tests have me feeling positive about how it sounds overall. But then, it all boils down to principal. I ordered and paid for a 4 channel amp yet, I technically received a 3 channel amp disguised as a 4 channel amp. Decisions, decisions... But, I know me. In the end, it will be returned for a new one that hopefully has 4 working channels. I wish you better luck!

Great amp for the money.
This is a great amp for the money. Unfortunately the car audio industry as a whole is full of false wattage claims and misleading numbers. Whenever you see "peak power 1500 watts" that just means it will last for one milisecond and then it's gone. Also they often are referring to 2 ohm power not 4 ohm power so this doubles the "watts." And then there are the tricksters that power the amp with 24 volts instead of 12 volts to get a higher (double) number. The RMS number is the closest to reality and even that you can usually cut in half. There is a new standardized wattage measuring system (I think it's called CRMS) You can see it on most SONY products. This amp is reviewed on youtube and one guy used 22 volts to get the 150 watt RMS power (x4 channels) from it. Another guy just gave it 12 volts and got 75 watts for each of 4 channels. So the actual power from this amp is total 300 watts RMS and that is actually a great amp for 65.00! I bought two of them to power six speakers and a simple bass unit and it is quite loud. You can use a single unit to power 4 normal speakers at a solid 75 watts per speaker. (you'll want to buy "150 watt" speakers because they lie too.) Or you can power two speakers at a real 150 watts. Or it has a nice feature for bass boost where you can power two 75 watt speakers and a 150 watt bass box. This really is a good amp for normal human beings. Much louder than stock car audio. Also remember when you see these super loud sound systems on cars they probably use a dual battery system and have to buy a special alternator for their car that puts out more volts. A normal car power system 12v battery would go dead if you played a 1500 watt stereo for long! Besides, when is the last time you actually listened to a real 1500 watt stereo? I miss the 80's when a 50 watt 6x9 speaker was very loud and if you had 4 of them you would blow your ear drums out!

RECEIVED DEFFECTIVE PRODUCT
price point was great. received unit in new box. came with manual and easy instruction. Installed easy and replaced my old kenwood amp. sounds good but only lasted a couple of days and started cycling on and off. checked all connections and everything was good. seems to be overheating, because it only seems to work when it's below freezing outside. when temperature goes above freezing or during the day it won't stay on. called customer service and because it happen before the 90 days they are going to replace it, but after 90 days you're SOL. not only that, but Ematic is making me pay to ship it back to california and now it's cost me more that I expected to pay. you think they would stand behind there products and if it's defective they would pay to send it back and send me a replacement. not cool, buyer beware..... they claim it will take 6-8 weeks to ship the replacement once the defective one is received. This company sucks! I will never buy from them again. I wish i could just get my money back. Hug! Nine weeks have now gone by and still no replacement. Customer service is terrible. No seems to care and just keep getting the runaround. I guess I should kiss my money goodbye

IN since 2023 - still all good in 2025
I do not understand the negative reviews for this product - i have been running this amp since July of 2023, it is not Jan of 2025 - NOT A SINGLE ISSUE - daily driver avg 2.5 - 3HR in IL where temps swing from negatives in winter and +90 in summer - amp on all times, at 75% crank up to all channels - not running the HPF/LPF, adjusted at the head unit - not a single issue. The only logical deduction is that people that torch these out or fry-pop them installed them incorrectly or are completely electrically-challenged. If you know how to hook-up, set, run car amps - get this one! the price is too crazy low to pass this up and you will not regret it. to all the fry-cooks out there, get something more expensive that comes with a more juice than you need and has multi-safety features that will prevent burn outs. keep in mind your amp is pulling from your car power, you do not want to experience ANY kind of electrical issues with any amp as it can compound into a major car-electrical issue down the road, and to that point, frying out your car-electric-system on a $100 amp, is just silly.

Good for its money!!
Ruined a Boss amp that was heavy as hell for no reason and was twice the price of this. This was great and it's compact and light. I have alpines so they're pretty efficient and don't need crazy power to run. This amp has a clean signal and can turn up a good amount without clipping. It may not be as powerful as it claims but it still is pretty strong. Sounds like it runs equal to my "boss phantom 2200W ". I do have an upgraded 240a alternator that runs at a bit higher voltage than stock so I do get a little bit more out of this amp. The shielding is great and keeps engine whine noise very low compared to what I had. This is a good budget amp, let's just see how it holds up. **02/25/2022 Runs really well and no problems since install. I actually use it to test new ground points since this is the cheapest to replace from mistakes. So far so good. AND I actually use it in bridge mode to run a 12 inch skar that handles way more than the amp can give and it is handling well with good bass response. I may buy another to have it as a dedicated sub amp while i save up for a bigger amp. This is well engineered.
