A good basic ESC
Good old basic speed controller. Works fine right out of the package.

I was shocked when I see the size
Ridiculously small and functional well. This is black magic

Very Pleased so Far
I won't know for sure till I fly my Volantex Phoenix 2400 glider I put this in last night but so far the experience has been terrific.. The leads are well made and well soldered and a bit longer than I needed. They were very easy to fit into this glider.. I had no ESC Programming card but found the instructions exceptionally easy to get to via the QR code on the package and Setting the Brakes to ON from the default OFF start using my Taranis Radio was simple and easy tho since You have to set the throttle stick to max I did take the precaution to remove the prop 1st even tho it never spun up unexpectedly. So Far, I really like it I just hope the 3 amps from the BEC is adequate since I do have 6 servos in this plane and that it holds up under load.. if so I think this will be a very good value considering its low cost. The plane flew with out issues.. plenty of thrust.. landed it and it was barely warm.. I like it a lot.

Works well for high speed - doesn't allow for lower speed control
I bought this and the listed programmer, to try to turn the motor speed down (I'm using it to power a rebuilt vintage blender...). Lowest speed was still about 2x what I'd wanted (note this is with belt/gear reduction already). Since BLDCs can have arbitrary speeds, not sure why there isn't a special "crawler" mode or something to this controller. For my application, I also found the cables too long, but of course that's easily rectified, and much better than too short! It's great that it provides 5.5V out, which allows me to power both the controller and the light show without requiring a separate regulator.

High quality, compact ESCs!
All of my LESU 1/14 scale hydraulic earthmovers came with these no-name blue labeled ESCs for the track motors. They have no configuration or calibration options. The motors were jittery at slow speed, and one of the ESCs when up in smoke the day I got the DT60 dozer. I replaced all my track motor ESCs with these 30A Defiant ESCs. Wow, what a difference. The motors run buttery smooth at slow speeds, and these are half the physical size of the ones I removed. Worth every penny. The seller also has manuals and videos online to show you how to set it up. A+ !

Great Customer Service!!
I very seldom write reviews but just had to for this esc. I bought it to replace the one in an electric rec helicopter that is probably 15 or more years old. All the connections matched perfectly and I had the servos all working but the motor would not spin up.You can scan the QR code on the esc and it brings up the online manual which is very detailed and easy to follow if you know what you were doing which I didn’t.I called the customer service number and actually had a person answer wasn’t press this number press that number for this or that. An actual person answer that spoke English and he was able to walk me through some troubleshooting and basic set up procedure and got everything working perfectly. He was going to send me a replacement if we couldn’t get this one working but it turned out not to be necessary.I would highly recommend this company.

So far so good.
Delivery was quick and was easy to access the manual via the grid code. Initial hook up on a used older plane went well and seems to work well in the shop. Still have more mods to do on plane and winter to pass to get the real test. But so far so good. Happy with purchase so far.

40 amp version has bad BEC
I really should have read the reviews on the 40 amp version specifically; I had purchased larger units in the past with good results and just thought this would be fine. Unfortunately, as has been mentioned in at least 1 other review, I found that on connection the motor output was just fine but when testing the servos in my plane, the receiver would shut off, and turn back on again. Watching the telemetry, you could watch the voltage drop at the receiver when operating the servos. Not worth the risk of a crashed plane.
