Only tried it out so time will tell how long it lasts but easy to use and seems good quality, accurate readings trying it put. Good price too.

Works as expected and has 3 useful modes: forehead temp, object temp and room temp.Forehead - silent (vibrates) and quick, so is great for kids.Oject - useful for milk, food, etc.Room - good for checking the nursery temp to adjust heating.This is the second of this type of thermometer we've purchased. The other was a popular amazon one, but after using it for a while, we learnt it was highly inaccurate, so had to be returned. This, on the other hand, seems accurate and also has a calibration offset settings as well - so even if we find this slightly off, we can adjust it in future.The only thing I don't like is if it's too high, it just says "Hi" instead of a temp reading. I would prefer to see the actual reading as I prefer to check - eg our kettle has variable temp, so I was curious how accurate it is

Only I know how many thermometers I have bought, they all ended up useless for one reason or another. With this one it was love at first site. Strong yet very easy to use and accurate - both ear and forehead. Finally my search is over!

Seems quite substantial and measure forehead/body temp quite well also measure surface temperature reasonably well . not so good on the air temperature measurement could not differentiate between ambient and fridge air to any big difference ? Simple to use, power on , measure and it gives a little vibration to let you know it has done it.

How this got so many great reviews I don’t know, I’m usually good at setting things up but this has got me stumped- tried on and off for 3 hours then gave up - will be going in the bin or charity bag.

I got tired of using my "rub across your forehead/stick it in your ear" thermometer and IR "point at forehead and read" thermometers have been around for years now so I figured it was time to upgrade. There are a lot of "forehead only" thermometers but I also wanted one that could read the temperature on surfaces. After looking at several candidate products, I selected this Berrcom unit and have been happy with it, especially for the price.The first thing I did was to compare the reading between this thermometer and the previous unit I have been using for years on my forehead and they measured exactly the same temperature which was a good vote of confidence. It is nice to just point and shoot and have a reading in a second instead of having to rub my old one back and forth across my forehead not knowing if it is always flat against my forehead. It is not shown in the picture, but the background lights up green when your temperature is in a good healthy range, and red when it is above normal.Next, I put this product into "surface temperature" measuring mode and checked the wall temperature next to my house air conditioning/heating control unit and they measured the same temperature as well (within one degree). I also recently installed some reflective insulation in front of a window that gets direct sun all day and it was extremely helpful to measure the window surface temperature before and the back of the window insulation after to see that there was a very respectable drop in surface temperature.For under $10, this product is a no-brainer and is great to quickly check your body temperature as well as measuring surface and room temperatures.

Le produit est arrivé rapidement, bien emballé et protégé.C’est mon premier thermomètre de ce genre, donc j’ai eu du mal à faire mon choix car je cherchais avant tout un bon rapport qualité-prix : ne pas mettre trop d’argent, mais ne pas sacrifier non plus la précision de la mesure (j’ai vu des commentaires sur plusieurs produits qui rendaient compte d’un énorme manque de précision de certains appareils de bas ou milieu de gamme et je craignais de tomber sur un tel produit).Ici, difficile de certifier à 100% que la précision est au rendez-vous car je n’ai pas de deuxième appareil pour comparer, mais à chaque prise, les valeurs ne me semblaient pas aberrantes par rapport à mon état lors de la mesure. De plus, j’ai toujours observé peu de variabilité en cas de mesures consécutives, ou en comparant la mesure en mode frontal et en mode auriculaire, ce qui est bon signe.A part cela, l’appareil est facile à utiliser. Il suffit d’appuyer sur le bouton pour le rendre opérationnel et prendre la mesure. Et pour changer le mode, il y a juste à enlever ou remettre le cache sur l’embout : sans cache, il s’agit du mode auriculaire, et avec, du mode frontal (on peut d’ailleurs voir un petit symbole sur l’écran indiquant le mode dans lequel on se trouve).Le fonctionnement est minimaliste mais suffisant : juste le nécessaire affiché sur l’écran (valeurs avec un indicateur sonore de fièvre le cas échéant), et un petit bip indique la prise de mesure, avec une mise en mode silencieux possible. L’appareil fonctionne avec des piles AAA.Etant donné qu’il n’y a pas de capuchons de protection fournis pour l’embout auriculaire, il faut penser à désinfecter régulièrement l’appareil, surtout s’il est utilisé par plusieurs personnes ; sinon, le mode frontal peut tout à fait être utilisé en toute sécurité puisqu’il n’implique aucun contact.Dans l’ensemble, ce produit répond donc à toutes mes attentes, il est donc très satisfaisant.
