A funny book that keeps kids engrossed.

What a wonderful way to introduce little ones to the joy of appreciating life’s simple pleasures! This book is a one-of-a-kind, interactive journey from the far reaches of space, to beautiful sandy shores, and the depths of the sea. Watching my little daughter’s eyes grow wide as she takes in the book’s bright beautiful photographs is so much fun… together we get to tap, shake and blow our way through this unique shared adventure.And in a world of children’s entertainment that has become far too focused on flashy, wiz-bang gadgets, the book’s focus on self-driven imaginative play is a wonderful change of pace. Even in the first read-through (of what will surely be countless times), it sparked fun conversations with my daughter about what it’s like to feel the warm sun or your face, or imagining the feeling of letting thousands of tiny grains of sand flow through your fingers.This has earned a permanent spot on the nightstand and will be in steady rotation. A really fun change of pace from the standard story time and picture book, this is a Must Have for anyone with a young imaginative child in their life.

Awesome is Everywhere is a remarkable book -- from the message, to the layout, to the imagery. My 6-year old daughter loves it, and I love reading it with her. She's delighted by the opportunity to interact with the content -- tap the earth, blow on the waves, imagine the quiet beneath them. The book gives her license to interact with it in unconventional ways, which always makes her laugh, and serves as a reminder that you don't have to view the world conventionally. It also aligns brilliantly with a child's sense of wonder and serves as a powerful reminder for adults who may have forgotten: at any level of analysis, the world is a truly awesome place.

Awesome is Everywhere is imaginative and peaceful. And SO much fun to read. Tap to zoom in-and-out used to be reserved for a digital world but Neil has found a way to bring this action to paper. My girls are overtaken by the simplicity of the words contrasted by the stunning photographs. We love finding the little secret gems buried in the photos together. Awesome is Everywhere just went to the top of our story time bookcase.

An overall disappointing book; for something called Awesome is Everywhere, the book outlines one place (microscopic organisms in the ocean). I was expecting something with some variety in the awesome things of the world. Strange idea to "tap here to zoom in" too - the following page is a zoomed in picture, closer to the ocean.

We bought this book because we saw a bit on TV where the author was interviewed and we thought it looked really good. Turns out, we were oversold and a little disappointed when the book arrived and it didn't live up to what we had expected. Turns out also that the kids we bought the book for were MUCH more impressed than we were. It may have been that we sold the book to the kids the same way the author and interviewer had sold the book to us, via imagination. Seems that that can be very important to a book.

Great book to have us appreciate all that is around us! The photography so real and it is so appealing to usingones senses. The photos provide great communication opportunities!

This is a good book, very thoughtful and has led to some interesting discussions in my house. Its unassuming and though it seems simple to us (adults) kids seem to find a lot more in this. Highly recommended.
