ACCUGENCE Blood Sugar Monitor, Blood Glucose Meter With 50 Blood Glucose test strip, 50 Lancets, 3in1 Multi-function Glucometer mmol/L

I bought this for my dog who was diabetic for the last few years of my life as I wanted to be able to test his blood sugar levels from home to accurately dispense the correct amount of insulin for him. Worked a treat. Displays the blood sugars very quick Nice LED screen A cheaper alternative to the dog specific ones and the strips that test the blood are cheap to replace as well so you don’t need to panic about redoing or using a couple. Very easy and comes with a nice easy to read instruction manual While using a human monitor isn’t recommended for use on dogs. Spending what I was spending on the dog specific ones was getting ridiculous. I googled and went on many groups and this came out as most recommended by many other owners with diabetic dogs.

The blood glucose monitor arrived very well-packaged. However, do check the packaging fully as I could not find the lancets. They were stuck fast in the outer delivery box. The price of the system is quite good, as you can test for Glucose, Ketones and Uric acid. However the Ketones and Uric acid sticks are not included. You need to buy those separately and they are expensive. The test strips only had a 2-month shelf life. If you are a person who does not undertake glucose readings daily, strips will become useless quite quickly. It takes 2 CR2032 batteries, that are also included. These can be expensive at times and sometimes hard to find. It is easy to load test strips into monitor. The system comes with a useful, but cheap-looking case. The case houses the monitor, strips, lancing device and about 20 28g Lancets. The lancing device was a bit tricky to open at first, and to load the lancets. With practise it becomes easier. It has 5 different piercing depths. I use number 2 and there is no pain whatsoever. If you have thick skin on your fingers, you may have to increase the depth numbers. There are 2 downsides to this system 1. The lancets are single use only. Some models you can buy, have 5 needles in 1 port . However, the generic 28g lancets that are sold on Amazon fit this lancet device. This cuts down on costs for lancets. 2. For each new pot of test strips, you have to calibrate the machine each time. Many machines do not require calibration. The results pop up in 5 seconds, and were accurate. I checked it against my other monitor. The test strips are expensive. Not sure if this brand can be ordered via the GP. Further investigation is required. If someone frequently needs to test their blood sugar, replacement test strips will work out very expensive. The quick guide, and troubleshooting guide are very comprehensive and the font is a good size. It's easy to see and is bold. No magnifying glass is required, which is great 👍🏾👍🏾. I definitely recommend this product, even though some of the accessories are expensive.

i was recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and as such find it useful to monitor my blood glucose levels to see how my lifestyle changes will impact my attempts to enter remission. this set has everything i need to do so and comes at what seems like a decent price but sadly while it works just fine the price is reflected in the quality of the device. the interface is very unintuitive and you will need to rely on the supplied instructions to understand what the correct way to use the buttons is. not something that would be very suitable for an elderly user. also the testing strips supplied expire in about 8 weeks so the window of use for this kit is very small and I worry that these are sitting on the shelves and may ship with even less time to use them when they arrive for others. if you are desperate and on the tightest budget it will work but i'll be upgrading at the earliest opportunity to something else.

Does what it says. Super simple set up.

Absolute waste of money if you need a ketone monitor. The device works fine when taking a blood glucose reading but has problems with ketone readings. Once you get the code recognising the ketone strip, and supply a good drop of blood, the device does nothing, even after waiting 30 seconds (the device says it should get a reading in 5-15seconds).

After 6 months, the device displayed results of pre-diabet. It always returned level of glucose greater than 7 in the morning before breakfast (see attached picture with a level of 7.8). It worried me a bit and I went to my GP, it turned out my level was perfectly normal, below 5 (see second pic).
