I bought this yogurt maker with the hope of making smooth, probiotic-rich yogurt, including L. reuteri. Unfortunately, the biggest drawback is that it does not maintain a constant temperature throughout the bowl. The bottom overheats, reaching 45–47°C, while the top remains much cooler around 35–36°C. This large temperature difference makes it unsuitable for fermentation that requires a steady, fixed range (around 37–39°C). Because of the uneven heating, the yogurt turns out grainy and inconsistent in texture rather than smooth and creamy. For strains like L. reuteri, which are sensitive to heat, the result is disappointing since the bacteria can die off at higher temperatures. In short, this yogurt maker lacks proper temperature control and uniformity, making it unreliable if you’re looking for consistent results. It may work for basic yogurt, but for specialized probiotic strains, it falls short.
