Q: Is there any way to shorten these? I'm wearing the black French manicure ones described as short, but they are still a bit long for my taste.

I think you can file down, but you would, of course, lose the French tip ends. You could try filing down the other end, but shaping it to your nailbed would probably take a bit of sculpting and might fit oddly. The type I bought were not French tips.

Q: How do you keep these on? i've tried the sticky pads, kiss nail glue, even gorilla glue! has anyone had success?

Make sure there is no oil, polish, etc on your nail by cleaning with nail polish remover then wash and dry hands well. Very lightly stroke an Emory board across nail. Only apply small line of glue down center of nail. Wait about 5 sec then Place nail about 1/8 in from cuticle then push back to the cuticle. Press down and hold in place for about 10-15 sec. I'm very hard on my nails and they usually stay on 7-10 days. By then your nails have grown out some and it's time to replace. They should start to release and pop off easily without damaging the nail. If they don't come off easily, dip a q-tip in polish remover and massage around cuticle until it releases. Hope this helps. I know the glue tabs have never worked for me either, but never an issue with glue - but use very, very sparingly - too much won't hold plus it runs all around cuticle and fingers.

Q: Can nail glue be used on press on nails?

Yes. I do it all the time. If the adhesive that comes with the nail loosens I just clean my real nail with alcohol and make sure there’s no residue left in the artificial nail, apply nail glue to my nail and your good to go and reapply your fake nail. Also, som nails come with the adhesive tabs you have to attach yourself. I just use the glue instead.

Q: How to remove them if used glue ? Can we use acetone with warm water ? Will it come off easily

Yes, nail polish remover (acetone) helps; but be gentle and don’t try to just rip them off. Wiggle the edges. They tell you to sand the tops of your own nail to make a good bond when gluing them on, but I skip this—it’s too strong a bond. I just apply glue to my nail (light coat) & then light coat to underside of the plastic nail; then stick together. They come off easily enough this way after a week or so.
