Height Adjustable Mannual Lawn Aerator for Compacted Soils and Lawns Hand Aerator with 4 Spike Aerator

Portions of my yard have clay soil. It behaves and feels a lot like concrete. I really wanted a tool that could penetrate it and aerate it, so that rain could get in and I could use some clay amendment. This tool helped me do an entire section of my front yard in less than twenty minutes. It's built in a way that makes it really easy to leverage and to use without getting a backache and honestly, without very much effort. I love the tool and would definitely buy it again.

This works great for small areas in your yard. If your willing to work it you could use it for all the yard. I had some small patches in yard that it worked great on.

This tool seems very sturdy, only problem is a little wiggle at the joints where the bolt is. If purchasing, make sure you have a socket set handy or several pliers to tighten the bolts. The adjustable height is a good feature in case several different people are using this tool. If they include wrenches that work and could tighten up the handle, it would be a five star rating.

The aerators that remove plugs of soil are more effective but also more of a hassle to use and much more expensive. This is a good cheap alternative if you need to aerate a small lawn < 1000 sq ft otherwise it will take a long time and your back is going to be killing you. I did about 700 sq ft in 40 min and it was easy to use, bolts didn't loosen but it WAS a bit of a workout. I think you can make it more effective by wiggling it when you push down with your foot to make slightly bigger holes.Overall on aerators this type gets 4 stars but for this type for the to ltra low price it is a 5-star value for small lawns or gardens.

Metal is a bit thin, there is a slight twist in the handle that can't be resolved without drilling out the bolt holes. It's a bit annoying as you're repeatedly pushing and pulling on this tool. I think it gets the job done. The grip on the handle is thinner I like. I think it's okay because I'll always be using this tool with a pair of gloves.

I am currently using this tool to loosen up ground to reseed some bare patches in the lawn. It has saved me many hours to perform this task. Hoping for good final results. Tool seems very sturdy and should last for a long time!

Because of the solid spikes it’s not really a core aerator. I have been using it on high traffic areas though. I prefer this because if I was taking out cores then the kids would be tracking mud into the house.In weak spots after I “punch” I add some seed to the area. My thought is that even if a few seeds make it into the holes I’ll have some success.Thrower down folks

Para mí es un muy buen producto,yo lo arme con ayuda de una de mis herramientas y la verdad que perfecto,tiene calidad y es seguro y si cumple con todas las espectativas para ya lo utilice y hace su trabajo bien así lo quería para no dañar mi jardín y hay que saber usarlo de acuerdo al suelo que tienes en tu jardín y no usarlo bruscamente,bueno es mi opinión pero si lo quieres usar fuerte también lo resiste el producto porque hice la prueba y si,lo recomiendo totalmente

The foot base is large enough.The teeth are sharp and long to penetrate the soil well. Looks sturdy.

Would prefer the tool to remove larger plug hole instead.
