Viridian RFX15 1x17 Micro Green Dot, Shield Mounting Pattern, Featuring Instant-ON

I am absolutely blown away by the Viridian RFX15. This is, without a doubt, a 5-star product. I picked it up specifically for my Springfield Hellcat, and the fit is absolutely flawless. The low-profile design and perfect co-witness with the factory sights make this a game-changer for my EDC setup.Mounting was incredibly easy right out of the box. It feels solid and durable, and the sight has held zero perfectly through hundreds of rounds. The green dot is incredibly crisp and easy to pick up in all lighting conditions, from bright sunlight to low light at the indoor range.The features are simple and effective. The INSTANT-ON™ feature means it's ready to go the second I draw, which is a huge confidence booster. The controls are intuitive, and I didn't need to spend a lot of time fumbling with it to get it sighted in.If you're looking for a red dot for your EDC, stop searching and get the Viridian RFX15. it has completely changed my shooting experience for the better. This is an essential upgrade that delivers on every promise.

I got these on sale with codes so didn't pay near the MSRP. I had a bunch of range toys I wanted optics for. What I like, they sit super low allowing lower co-witness with standard height sights. Shake awake seems good. The green dot is easy to pick up in bright daylight. Not sure about durability yet, only a few hundred rounds through them each. What I don't care for is how easy the screws stop out with very little tourk. Having to pull the optic to change the battery is going to be an issue I can tell now. The sale price I got it at is where the MSRP should be because the are a straight copy of an existing China Optic made in China not the USA.

I am sorry to say that I did not like this green dot. It fit my Hellcat Pro perfectly, was somewhat easy to install, and was well priced. However, it was not as clean a dot as other reviewers described. Instead it seemed to blossom or star, as others have described of other brand dots. In addition, it did not have MOA clicks when zeroing. Thus, it was more difficult to dial in than it should have been. Zero is very important to me (and should be for you as well) because that is what ensures we hit what we aim, and better yet that it is co-witnessed with the iron sights. Here, I never was able to obtain co-witness, and the zeroing took nearly an entire 50 round box (45 rounds, three magazines). More, it did not always turn on with the "always on motion," in fact, on occasion I had to smack it with my hand to wake up. Not cool, because in a crises, this is the last thing you should be thinking about. I was also disappointed that the GDS was made in China, something not referenced in the web materials. I believe that particularly for something this crucial, it should be made here, or in an allied nation. In closing, the dot was bright, the green really did appear to stand out.

I suffer from a pretty bad astigmatism and have gone through about every brand out there looking for a dot that doesn't burst. The RFX 15 hands down has the most crisp dot out of everything I've tried, holds zero, super clear glass, little bit of a green tint but barely noticeable and is an all metal construction. If you suffer from an astigmatism definitely try this out.

I was apprehensive buy couldn't pass up when the price dropped below $150. The only issue I had was the windage was sticking so I has to take the access plate off and then it worked perfectly. I have about 1000 rounds through it and it's held zero perfectly.

The RFX15 is by far the best red dot I've found for astigmatism, providing a much sharper and more defined reticle than anything else I’ve used. The clarity is impressive, making it a standout choice for those who struggle with blurry or distorted dots. (However, astigmatism affects people differently)That said, the fitment was a bit unusual. Mounted on my Sig P365 AXG Legion with a Shield RMSc footprint, I found the sight to be slightly too long—about a millimeter off. This required me to carefully tap it into place using a rubber mallet. Fortunately, it seated securely without any damage, but this is something to be aware of for those with similar setups.A couple of minor drawbacks: the base is exposed, which feels like an odd design choice. While it sits flush with the firearm and likely won’t cause issues, a covered base to further protect the battery would have been preferable. Additionally, the detailed instructions are only available online, which is frustrating. A simple extra page in the packaging to explain key adjustments, such as the auto-on/off function, would have been a small but meaningful improvement.Despite these quirks, this dot remains an excellent sight at a competitive price point. It features a larger window than most micro red dots, making target acquisition easier, and it performs exceptionally well for those with astigmatism. With just a few small refinements, it could be near perfect.
