It weighs almost nothing, small and very suited to backpacking. Can be safely held in the hand or a nylon pocket as it's "teeth" are very small. It's certainly not the fastest saw out there, but the weight to usefullness ratio makes it very worthwhile to carry for cutting up firewood and whatever other trunks and limbs that need cutting while backpacking. If being extremely small and lightweight is not a top priority for you then a chain based saw would be better suited to you than this thin cable based saw. They will saw faster and are more aggressive but their weight and storage size is a bit larger.

Everybody should have one of these saws! Not only does it fold up nice in a pack, big or small, weighs virtually nothing, but it can cut down a tree or through some branches if you need! I had it in my pack and used it to cut large tree branches out of the way for my backcountry camping spot and for firewood. The saw does as described, cuts. I store it in belt/hip pocket in my pack, so it's easy to get to and use when needed and folds up about as small as a key ring.

This saw is not sharp to the touch, so it can easily be held in your hand, but it cuts pretty well through wood. It's a good saw for emergencies or lightweight backpacking.I usually take a small folding saw when I go backpacking, but I'm going to start taking this to save on weight. This cuts well enough, and I don't usually end up cutting much firewood anyway.

This is a great lightweight option to stick in your pack for those, "just in case" scenarios. Many backpacking products advertise as lightweight and compact, but end up being left at home and not making the cut, this one will always be in my hunting or backpacking pack because it is so light and useful there's no excuse not to have it along!

Lightweight, easy to use and quality made. This little pocket saw cuts through wood like butter. So easy, kids can use it. Very light weight and easy to use I’m going to put one in all of my vehicles and backpacks.

I tried it on one branch. It cuts good until it gets stuck. It got stuck multiple times and had to pull it out of the cut.

Tried to use this to cut a 1 inch branch off a tree. Starts great, digs in for the first 1/8th of an inch then gets stuck. Maybe if the branch had been completely dead it would have worked better. Didn't expect to cut down a tree with it (regardless of the picture showing it being used for that), but a 1 inch branch! In short, don't waste your money. It's not even worth the $7.95 they charge for it. I can't imagine having to use this in a survival situation, if you did, better hope your life insurance is paid up.
