Since it's introduction in 1981, this fragrance has changed quite a bit. Regulations that limit the use of civet & musk in perfume production altered the profile around 1999. While still very masculine, it's lost some of the long-lasting, dark animalistic sustain since the reformulation. I purchased my first bottle back in 1987 and stopped using it in the mid-90s. Bought this new one out of nostalgia, and while I'm a bit disappointed in how it's changed, it's probably more versatile and approachable the the beast of yesteryear.

I’ve been wearing this exclusively since military days when I got this at a PX in France, early 80’s. No one wears it, I have gotten 100’s of compliments over the years…. Axe, yeah Axe that’s what you want!!! Kouros it too refined for modern olfactory [metro] senses.Move along
