Fender Ultra String Guides (2)

I bought these to replace the typical string tree fitted being made by Fender I thought they must be good I wasn't wrong smooth edges, well polished and look good. I was only going to replace the one that was on my Telecaster but it looked good I put the other one on. I would recommend these as others I was looking at some reviews saying that they had poor screw quality snapping and the likes. The type of screwdriver I used was one out of my watchmaker kit of driver's and no issues. As I say they do a perfect job.

Very good quality item (fitted as standard on Ultra series guitars costing £2k+) for only £8.99 Fitted like-for-like to a Squier Tele with tall-post string trees - some guitars will require a short post design, to create enough of a break angle from the nut to the tuners. Check what you need. Significantly improved playability and tuning stability.

Wanted to add a 2nd tree/glide to my Squier strat, but wanted them to match. The set of 2 was perfect. These look far superior to the pressed metal trees you get as standard. The countersunk screws which sit flush to the surface are a nice touch.

Bought to replace the pressed metal type tree on the new Squier Debut Stratocaster. Edges are nicely rounded, so hopefully reducing the chance of strings binding on the tree anymore. A nice cheap upgrade to make life a little better.

USA made string trees of very good quality.No burrs or sharp edges to catch strings,but I would still suggest using a light lubricant on them.Recommended.

I’m not a huge fan of the pressed metal plates for the string tree on some Fender models. For guitars with a single screw and no registration hole, theses are an easy change. Perfect on my 2017 Made In Mexico Telecaster. Fender do an alternative cheaper tree but the cheaper model has the screw hold and a pin, you can chop the pin off though. If you don’t want to drill a hole or modify the part these are a simple fit. The strings are a little higher but doesn’t affect playability. While a little expensive these look great have smoother edges too. 2 in the pack.

Not much to go wrong with these, they helped fix the string tension issues on a telecaster build I did. I may have got the placement wrong for one of them, but for the most part it fixed the problem. I really did like how these look, that's what won me over the most, over the classic stamped metal style string trees. Although, probably not the string trees themself, a new problem arose of the strings ringing out past the nut. So, now I'm on the lookout for a head stock/nut wrap or some sort.
