Q: just how tear resistant is this film? I an thinking of covering a costco tent with this film in order to prevent uv and sun from my rv van which

This material is strong. There is a plastic mess that is difficult to rip and is part of the fabric. I was walking on it when installing my metal roof it never riped and that was with a 5 12 pitch. Prior to using this material my home was always hot in the summer months but lately I turn on my one room air conditioner for the upper floor on around 7:00 pm and it take less than 2 hours to cool it. The other multiple fans are never used anymore. It will work great for the tent.

We have the same 24 " on center. We run sideway. Wish I would have used the larger width!!! Don't forget to leave a 3" gap at top and bottom for air flow.
